Pathetic..! SMu, Houston, Tech, Texas are all better than we are. Don't give me the well if we had B12 schedule we would have same record bc watch those teams and we are no where near them..! They are coached way better and would beat us by more than a TD..!
Pathetic after 15 yrs in SeC were surpassed by SMU and Houston who were in CUSA when we moved..
only thing moving to SEC was to give an excuse to why we lose 4-5 games a year bc of the competition was better.
We could act big and tough bc we were in conference with the big boys..!!
We had 3 seasons in 15 where we actually were legit in SeC and we have one conference championship appearance in 30 yrs..!!

This can be fixed. We just need the fans to pony up more money for a new coach, more players, etc. I think they should raise ticket prices another 50% and then we will finally be winners.

RC was a great defensive coordinator. His best years as a head coach were in a dying SWC. When we won the SWC we lost every Cotton Bowl. RC had a 3-8 record in bowl games. RC was on his way out when we miraculously beat KState to win our only B12 conference title. That win put us in the Sugar Bowl against Ohio State. We held our own in the first half and then they ground us into the turf in the second half, like we do to weak teams now. RC hung on for a few more years but we were noticeably slipping downward.

We were not and never have been a national power for more than a year or two, here and there. But if we could clone a coach, who could coach a team like Jackie and run a defense like RC and an eye for talent like Sherman, that is the coach I want.

Sadly the game had finally passed him by. What's more sad is the game has passed Elko by just 2.5 seasons in.

This is why we are mediocre..! We made one B12 championship when we were in the weak B12. We aren't that much better than Tech, Houston, SMU.. watch them play ? They are competent and better coached..! They have coordinators who actually have called plays before.. wake up we suck

We were in the B12 and we couldn't win a championship there either. We laughed at tx coming into the SEC because we had a head start and had been toughened on stiffer SEC competition. We've yet to beat them and while they're not perfect, they have more signature wins than we do. Our program is an embarrassment and you trying to justify us by other conferences lack of stiff competition makes me laugh and shake my head.

As frustrating as it might be the market is largely responsible for setting those rates. tickets, coaches, food prices at the game; all are a function of what people are willing to pay.

You can't really point the finger at 1 person, or even 100. It's just the way it is, even if it stinks like a cesspool.

I think we would rank 5th among 7 Power 4 teams in Texas behind No. 11 Texas, No. 13 Texas Tech, No. 18 Houston, and No. 19 SMU, and we are only better than Baylor and TCU. We have lost 5 of our last 6 SEC games, and all 5 of those losses were by double digits.

For the younguns, the Big12 was a very powerful conference at the time it was formed. NU was NU of old, KSU was peeking under Snyder and CU was only a few years removed from winning the national championship. After OU turned it around, both the north and the south were strong. It slipped by the time we left and is a shell of its former self now. Not valid to compare past B12 records with current ones.
