I know you feel you have the right to express your outrage and disappointment in the coaching and players. But do you think hundreds of posts about how bad you think the team is actually does any good? If the players read it, and you know they do, will it motivate or demotivate them? Are you helping or hurting the team? Yelling about bad coaching comes with the job. Do the players have to put up with it as well?
If players are reading a message board, then they likely aren't doing their job. As a former student-athlete, the student-athletes have a lot on their plate.
1) Classes
2) Hours of Practice
3) Study Hall
4) Weight Room/Strength & Conditioning
5) And a lot of them have to deal with media availability throughout the week, which means they are being told how to craft messages and respond to certain questions.
And, if they do have free time, they're more likely studying, partying or doing something a lot more fun than reading message boards.
If players are coming on to message boards, they're not focused anyways, and that's a problem for the coaches.
When I was a student-athlete, I added swimming onto my plate because swimming was the quickest way I knew how to build my body into the best shape possible. What I did was a bit above and beyond, but I also was not the best on my team and I had to find an edge.
