In another thread somebody identified this as a potential problem. After much thought, I concur.

But what do you replace it with?

The first thing that came to mind in this era of transfer portals, NIL, coaches making more than televangelists….was Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing."

A few others, some obvious, some not:

The Aggies came into the season ranked eighth and sit at 3-3 overall, 1-3 in the SEC, with the offense sputtering against better defenses and Mike Elko still starting Marcel Reed despite the regression in completion percentage, touchdowns, and turnovers.

That "Money for Nothing" suggestion fits the NIL pileup as well as any, especially when the returns have been thin.

A few others that capture the combination of spent capital, stalled production, and a coaching staff that keeps seeing something the rest of the sideline does not:

"Take the Money and Run" (Steve Miller Band) works for the same reason "Money for Nothing" doesthe checks clear, the results do not, and everyone keeps moving.

"Same Old Song and Dance" (Aerosmith) covers the weekly ritual of promising schematic adjustments while the same quarterback keeps missing the same windows.

"I Can't Get No Satisfaction" (Rolling Stones) is blunt enough for a team that has gone stretches without scoring an offensive touchdown against conference opponents.

"Stuck in the Middle with You" (Stealers Wheel) describes the awkward middle ground Elko occupiestoo invested in the current starter to change, not invested enough in results to stay comfortable.

"The Song Remains the Same" (Led Zeppelin) is almost too on-the-nose for a staff that has heard the numbers and kept the same plan.

"Nowhere Man" (Beatles) fits a quarterback whose early-season production has flattened into something that no longer moves the ball against decent fronts.

"Money" (Pink Floyd) is the cleaner, colder version of the Dire Straits idea: the cash is real, the return is abstract.

"Can't You See" (Marshall Tucker Band) lands on the coaching sideplenty of people outside the program can see the problem; the people inside keep not seeing it.

Any better ideas?

Im sorry, you see a problem with power but cant think of anything about money for nothing that would be controversial?

Based on your list, the 1982 aggies should be fired up to play.

"Can't always get what you want" by the Stones would be good. Not sure about "get what you need though".
