Here's who to blame

Trev Alberts (Athletic Director): Led negotiations with Elko's representatives and supported the extension.

Glenn Hegar (Texas A&M System Chancellor): Supported the university's commitment to Elko.
Robert Albritton (Board of Regents Chairman): Helped oversee the decision at the governing-board level.

Tommy Williams (Interim University President): Was authorized to negotiate and execute the contract.

Texas A&M Board of Regents: Provided the formal authorization for the agreement.
Chemistry happens and eventually the rocks get opinions...

Albert's is just a figure head when it comes to football. Regardless of AD, we consistently make the same contract mistakes. It's the guys that pay his salary that are the real issue.

For the life of me I do not understand why we continue to give coaches extensions that have won NOTHING.
If this mindset was in control of a corporation it would be out of business in a very short time.

A year ago it seemed like every other thread on Texags had a title something to the effect of PAY THE MAN and wondering why it was taking so long to get the extension done.

The other threads were complaining about Indiana being ranked ahead of the Aggies.

Well, he did make the playoffs. That means they beat the teams scheduled. That is indeed something.

The problem is the powers that be ignored that there was not a victory over a +500 SEC team and the QB finished dead last in the SEC in completing passes.

They completely ignored the offensive struggles against the hurricanes and burnt.

The best analogy I can think of for the decision makers is Tommy Boy and his pretty new pet.

The only constant in that long list of positions is the donors that write the checks.

The entire athletic department is run by a committee of people that seem to enjoy the access and influence their donations get them rather than actual results on the field or court.

And he's following that up with what may be one of its worst. He got lucky last year with an easy schedule and still **** the bed against tu and Miami.

IMO Elko would be given somewhat of a break if he specifically cited areas that need improvement and how he is going to address them. Instead, for the last 4 weeks all we have heard is " This is on me" and "We have to do better". Yeah, no kidding. Be specific. Address the glaring problem of Reed and the rookie OC.

That would be great if, in hindsight, the schedule wasn't extremely weak and we finished strong, but the exact opposite was the case.

LOL….now we don't get any credit for making the playoffs because our SEC schedule (+ nationally ranked Notre Dame) was "extremely weak". This is an example of the cesspool.
