Playing in an easier conference might get more wins but not a National Championship.

If you can't win 3 games in a playoff against the top 12, you can't win a NC. This year will be telling if a 3 loss SEC team makes the playoff.

A&M's entire football system (from the players, the coach, the AD, Chancellor, BoD, president) needs to be replaced if we want to win a national championship. And then we have to replace all that with the right people. BAS is like getting sprayed by a skunk. You gotta do a complete replacement.
Chemistry happens and eventually the rocks get opinions...

These posts are so silly. The goal is to get in and then see what happens. By your logic ND will NEVER win another championship because their football team is not even in a conference. In any given year a team from the Big 12 could win it all because in today's world it's all about NIL money and if you hit big on players and have an easy road to the CFP then you have a great shot at winning it all.

Plenty of conversation about this preseason that seems that Billy and the Texags staff have made it clear that they think there will be a three loss SEC team to make the CFP.

So we will see if this chemistry duration, and if so, just how well the three loss team will perform

Miami plays in a **** conference and would have won last year if not for a lot of stupid undisciplined play in the championship game.

ACC is a little better this year. The big 12 is a damn joke and they'll get two teams in possibly thank goodness we beat ASU and Auburn beat Baylor two bottoms feeders in SEC beat higher standing big 12

If this is in reference to discussions like "Big 12 vs SEC" and what we should have done, people need to also remember that we never recruited at an elite level (this century) as part of the Big XII.

You can't take a roster that we were able to assemble with the hype and $$ the SEC move (and JFF) brought us and just assume we could go back to playing in the Big XII and that roster would have still be achievable.

We're not changing conferences so what's the point of this discussion?

With a 12 team playoff I think the SEC is just fine for a chance to win it all. If you can't qualify for the playoffs with 12 teams you aren't running the table anyways.

your post is dumb since ND sucked off the entire committee for an auto spot if 12 or better.

This position stands on the premise that 6-8 SEC teams would be really good teams (questionable at this point) and the SEC gauntlet would deliver a couple of 3 loss teams that were capable of making a run to the natty.

The narrative right now is not "wow look how tough the SEC is". The narrative is "the SEC aint what it used to be". That is not to say a 3 loss team is not possible, it could be. I think the chances are reduced every week that we see a media darling (Fl, Ole Miss, Miss St) look average at best. And, that feels like every week at this point.

Maybe Mizzou is the "back to earth" team this week. BTHO Mizzou!!

Also, teams like Tech make it less probable. Top 10-12 teams who have beaten nobody and have nobody left on their schedule are going to be there above teams that are likely better. It happens every year and will not stop happening regardless of how much the CFP is expanded.
