Why recruit from high school/portal when you can wait till the day before the season starts and grab someone that declared for the NFL? And , they didn't make it on a NFL roster or practice squad but can come back to college and play? Also, a state judge can reopen a transfer portal for players before the season? I don't think they follow through but it sounds like a head coach not confident in the team he has been coaching all offseason. I feel sorry for the players that have been there all along and working hard if they end up losing playing time. Crazy times. Does Myles Garrett still have eligibility?

Garbage. But it was inevitable bc we are a capitalistic society and I won't argue that a player with zero money seeing his jersey sold for $75 a pop, along with the money the school makes on tickets and conference playoff/bowl games, doesn't have some grievance for being a slave for collegiate greed.
You're saying it doesn't bother you? Must favor LSU. Most players are getting paid. It's a business already. NIL etc.
Well it used to be worth a lot to get all your bills paid and a great education to get a good job someday.
Now they get out with little to no real education but got lots of money and look how 60% of them end up at the end.

In the world of NIL, do players still receive full-ride scholarships (tuition, room, board, tutors, fees, etc.)?
Or do the athletes w/ high-dollar NIL have to pay

As far as I know they still get the scholly. And the all the free stuff from the athletic dept that people go into debt to get.
Well you may want to root for another coach/school b/c Elko has made it clear he is recruiting from HS ranks and that's how he is building this thing for long term success.

Totally agree that's the way it should be. I like the program he has developed. I was mainly targeting the whole LSU situation. I like what we are doing at A&M. In regards to pro players, Elko has already mentioned he doesn't like the fact that players can come back and play after missing the whole offseason. I have my popcorn ready to see what happens next.
