I have always enjoyed commentary in the Zoo to keep up with what is happening with the Fightin' Texas Aggies Football Team and college football in general. You are correct that with the changes in college football have also come changes in the Zoo.

I still appreciate the chatter here in the Zoo and the ability to keep up on TexAgs with other Texas A&M teams and university stuff.

Maybe take the initiative and start them yourself?
Hotties threads are pretty easy, so if a person just gets the ball rolling, there's plenty of others that will supplement with more content

SECRant is great if you want to talk trash or insult other people. Or if you like reading such.

Not so much for discussing sports. I visit from time to time but the time spent sifting through juvenile trolling turns me off quickly. I do wish there was an active SEC message board with reasonable moderators. /cfb is probably the best place on the Internet for fans of all affiliations to gather and interact.

Dear diary…

The reason Texags football board was so great was the general lack of moderation and a lot of millennials who were apt to use the message boards all were in school or around school.

Now we have more moderation to keep topics on topic and a lot of the younger crowd that made tons of posts are older and have kids.

There has to be less of the current student population on here.

The youngs are all screwing off on X, TikTok, Instagram, etc. etc.
Even at a game, it's wild how many are looking down at their phones majority of the time.

Most important is that TexAgs is 1999 technology. We are in 2026. Things have moved on and fresh blood is not joining TA anymore. They are going to other avenues like reddit or snapchat and other places that I am not aware of. The median age here is about 55 and the oldest folks are 85-90.The youngest may be in their 30s. I don't think there are many members who are younger than 35.

Moderation is generally fair but sometimes erratic. The other day i got banned for a day for "posting a twitter link with an obscenity". I was taken aback, I has just replied to someone with text and posted no additional linked and may have included the other poster's link. He was not banned but I was. It's okay, not a problem and just a day anyway. Some times I have been banned as part of a mass banning even when I had not posted in a thread! Anyway. But mostly moderation has been fair.

College Football has been ruined by the greedy clowns who run it. They made it NFL-lite. They killed what made it different. Now every college athlete acts like an entitled rich brat like NFL players. And these are moneyed kids so it makes it more dangerous. Colleges are all about sports and money making - education is on the backburner.

People getting older and more jaded. I myself feel this. Corporations and CEOs getting away with murder everyday. Nothing happens to them. Now H1B is a big issue and something seems to be done but until I see results I won't call it a win. Americans cannot get jobs (other than HVAC) but foreigners can get the 500k jobs.

Overall, everybody I know is pessimistic about America. I still post here but I also post on other places like twitter and other sites.

I have nothing invested in this, and neither do the players or coaches. College football has been big for a long time, but it crossed a threshold somewhere within the last couple of decades and lost its very soul. Go round up a couple dozen Aggies on campus, do the same in Austin, and find a vacant high school stadium on a Saturday afternoon and play. I'd give a lot more of myself to that than the Roman circus at Kyle Field.

No disrespect but you've been saying this often, so get your conviction is real. But curious why spamming the boards with it, sound counter intuitive to not caring.

Not every player acts like a spoiled brat. That's not even close to true. You probably have that opinion because Jimbo recruited those types of guys and then the internet allowed you to follow them a lot more closely than you would've been able to 25 years ago. Most players are humble hard working guys, don't let a loud minority spoil your opinion of them

I do think the wider cultural attitude has found its way into sports. It's harder to get excited about a game when the world around you is decaying, and the young population that used to bring a lot of energy to something like this are becoming increasingly jaded and nihilistic

I really don't understand the TexAgs business model. I assume Billy is making money. Is Brandon still a part of it? There is literally nothing that would get me to pay for content. I still come here for the entertainment but it's gotten so stale. Not too long ago if you logged out for a couple of hours a whole new page of threads would pop up. The GB was crazy. Now the same boring threads stay on page one for a week.
I guess TA gets a lot more ad revenue than I think. Can't imagine subscriber money alone keeps this place afloat.

Guess Missouri state doesn't have any hotties.
