So, about 15 minutes into the game, 5 frat guys walk into our section. How do I know they were frat? Because they had the shirts... Anywho, I've been sitting in this sections for four seasons and I'm pretty sure I know where my seats are. Only four of the five actually had tickets for this section. Since it is 12th Man seating, I assume they got them from a scalper or from daddy.

They have tickets for row 12 and we are sitting on row 13. When they push my wife out of the way, we try to let them know they are on the wrong row. Since attendance was low, we decided not to push the issue and get an usher. They then procede to be total @sses the rest of the half. When the band forms up, one of the guys says, let's go tailgate for 20 minutes. They then left and never returned.

I'm all for Frat block seating... any way we can put it in the parking lot? Seems that is where they want to spend all their time anyway. Here's the deal... if your organization chooses to be visible when attending the game, at least make an effort of representing the organization well.

I've never had a problem with frats until yesterday. These organizations have to understand that there is a stereotype placed on their group. Yesterday, they did nothing but perpetuate the myth... Rent a friend, join a frat.

I didn't see the band leave early... Nor have I ever seen any other organization act in such a way. Have an example?

Stereotypes exist due to the cumulative exhibition of certain behaviors or characteristics over time. It's not like tons of Ags got together and decided "let's talk up the frats as a bunch of good-for-nothing, sip-wanna-be, two-percenters".

No! You CANT say that about ___________ organization. Most organizations have their fun but keep each other in check; they make sure and let their friends know if something they say or do is bad bull. Im not greek, thank God, so I cant speak for them, but its complete BS to say that such complaints can be generalized to any organization.

Also, I have friends in frat$. Though it was not a path that i choe to follow, not all greeks fall into the stereotype. Perhaps these guys fall into the "stereotype."

I've seen drunks, greek and non greek. We have all seen uncover nazis, greek and non greek. But to say that the inconsiderate, 2%er attitude can be generalized to any oranization is asinine.

I don't have an axe to grind with any individual friend renter (frat guy), but as far as I am concerned, they are a bunch of come late, leave early, let's get drunk and haze our pledges kind of people. I realize that my beloved Corps of Cadets has many a two-by-four in our eyes, but the frats really serve no purpose at TAMU. These folks ride around with more frat paraphanalia on their vehicles than TAMU paraphanalia, thus placing their frat over the school. Kind of goes against the Aggie mentality that being an Aggie is putting the University first before all else.

You just said this is the first run-in you have had with Greeks, but feel fine stereotyping all Greeks because of this one experience.

You guys are ridiculous. Your complaing because they have greek tshirts on and have frat letters on their car right next to their A&M letters? You guys will simply cry about anything, anytime,anywhere. You sit here and bit#! that frats and greeks have no place in A&M yet you are being beyond hypocritical in regards to not realizing that SORORITIES are greek as well. So are you guys anti chicks as well. If you would pull your heads and realize that alot of the reason we are having attendence problems and people leaving the games its more a function of sor. and girls either not even showing up or leaving at halftime.

You saw several frat guys leave at half time? So that means the entire greek system at A&M does the same thing? That is beyond ignorant and one of the problems wrong with A&M today. Its called change and just because there are more greeks at A&M now than ever before doesnt make it a bad thing.

Way to go bullard. I'm an Old Ag and am glad to see other organizations other than the corps making positive inroads at A&M. I saw plenty of greeks working this past spring in the Big Event. And why does everybody on here have to attack someone that suggests change, may be a little different, or just doesn't quite fit the status quo.

Many of the inroads made by Frats have not been positive.

How is a frat any different than the guys who all decide to live in the same dorm because they love northside. The inner workings of the dorms here at a&m are just like the frat system. If I am wrong it is because I don't understand it just like you all don't understand frats. I think everyone who is against fraternaties needs to give it a rest and be a little more open minded. I don't thing you would ever see a Greek wearing a shirt that read "Moore Hall stinks" similar to the classless "no Frats" shirts. Wake up this school is changing and everyone is along for the ride.

I still want to hear all this negativity that occurs.
