T sips on X insisted they would have 20 players at the combine and at least 4 first rounders. Now they claim 6 first rounders for 2027 probably going before pick 7. So none is a good thing.
My interests only lies with hearing over and over that TU was the best team money could by…..and not one player was chosen in the first round.

I mean Sark did have 12 drafted last year (to Elko's 3) with three in the first round, but I take your point.

This while thread is mysteriously lacking in ag tags.
Sips we're rebuilding last yr (esp OL) and a younger team. Their experience/confidence started to gel at end of the year and, in theory, they will be better this upcoming season (but time will tell and can hope they are a train wreck).
We'll also see if Elko is truly the coach as we lost a lot of talent and leadership (even guys not drafted yet) and he has to prove he can rebuild and develop a top tier team quickly (and a tougher sched). For a variety of reasons we missed a prime chance last year to really make some noise, but we'll see has the story unfolds.

We've played 3 times since 2010.
But regardless, that's not the point. In 2 straight years, Sark coached circles around Elko. Made him look silly. So we've got 7 draft picks to their 1? Who cares? That's just even more glaring evidence that Elko should have beaten those jackasses last year.
And spare me the no Ag Tag routine. I was walking around campus in my boots before some of you were even a glimmer in your daddy's eye. My original handle got permabanned years ago and with it went the Ag Tag.
Furthermore, there have been multiple proven instances here over the years of non Ags using the credentials of a real Ag (spouse, sibling, etc.) to acquire an Ag Tag. Anyone who uses the presence of an Ag Tag as some sort of "validator" is naive as all get out.
Back to the point at hand….Elko better beat the sips this year. He's already got a bit of a "Texas problem". He loses to them 3 years in a row then it's going to be more than just a narrative. It's going to have real world consequences relative to recruiting, program perception, etc.
Future recruits definitely are NOT considering where they can go to develop their talent to the next level. It's all about the cheese at the college level, right?

texas has a long tradition of taking the highest-rated recruits and turning them into garbage the NFL won't touch. There was an article on it some years back on ESPN or SI. Worst rate in the country by far.

Im with the OP. Its not a moral victory. It essentially doesn't mean anything. However, those clowns run their mouths about everything so I'm happy they can't brag about another silly thing, yet our coaches can surely mention the draftee discrepancy.

We had 10 players drafted, tying the 1976 program record and second to only Ohio State. In contrast, TU had 6 players drafted.

The only upgrade they got was coleman... ran off a ton of depth... swapped two RBs for two of the same type of player.
