BREAKING: Texas A&M QB Miles O’Neill intends to enter the transfer portal.

O’Neill has served as Marcel’s back-up. He’s a big armed, mobile QB looking for a clearer path to immediate playing time.

I also think Brady Hart is emerging as QB2

We didn't really realize it because that was the worst team we've played in 30 plus years but we played an astonishingly terrible game vs Samford. Miles was horrendous.

This. It was very evident in that game that Miles was never going to be the guy much less a serviceable backup.

Miles wasn't going to pan out here. Throwing picks against 2nd stringers is an easy way to sit the bench.

i think this says more about brady hart than miles o'neil. i thibk o'neil can be a good qb but brady hart has much more upside. kid is like 17 right now and should have been a senior in high school. he has the height, arm talent and speed to be very intriguing. and he seems to be very under control emotionally.

Better backup for Reed than Oneil, but too expensive for a QB2.

Miles O'Neill decided to transfer because he knew that Brady Hart was already ahead of him next year. I hope he gets playing time at another school.

But, but, but…does no one remember New Mexico State last year?!? Because based on like 2 series in that game I was assured by the pumpers that he was a future Aggie great! Just shocking that they would be wrong.

It's a shame. He didn't really fit into Klein's system. But we probably haven't had a QB who could fling it downfield with his level of accuracy since Kubiak.

I look forward to seeing him light up defenses somewhere else next year, as long as it isn't in the SEC.

- Will become QB #2 in 2026 - Starting QB in 2027 / 2028

3. Helman Casuga 6'1" 220
- True Freshman - Will RS as a QB in 2026 - Will enroll in classes in January 2026.
- Will become QB #3 - Possible starting QB in 2028 / 2029

4. Eli Marcos 6'1" 205 - Freshman (RS) - Probable Scout Team QB - Here in 2026
5. Paxton Land 6'4" 225 - Sophomore (RS) - Probable Scout Team QB - Here in 2026

6. Miles O'Neill 6'5" 220 - Sophomore (RS) - Transfer portal - Gone in 2026
--- We will bring in a senior-level "Non-Starting" QB to be a player-coach to Brady & Helman.

Johnny was pretty accurate down field.

Hart was by far the better QB of the two. Hart also should have been a senior in high school this season. The guy lost me when he called Miles mobile. He does have a strong arm though and will make somebody a good QB. But I am keeping Hart over him every time.

You don't think Reed is the answer, so you think we should go get a QB who had a lower completion percentage, fewer passing yards, fewer passing touchdowns, more INTs, a lower QBR, fewer rushing yards and fewer rushing touchdowns for a team that wasn't competitive and an offense that was worse than ours, despite some real talent?

The fact that Lagway is considered one of the top portal QB targets and has been so clearly worse than Reed should be enough to tell you that we have our QB for next year in house despite whatever frustrations you have with him. The most likely path to improved QB play next year is improvement from our already very good QB. And the good news is players do tend to get better each year.

And they've recruited and received early verbal from QB Jayce Johnson for the '27 class (I know not 2026 list, but kid has high potential and may be tough to hold until signing day).

Think we still take a QB but for experience and depth of a solid QB3 or maybe even QB2 after spring practices (just like we did last yr even though he never saw the field).

I kind of got this feeling based on the way they were handled in the Samford game.

I'm optimistic that we see a huge improvement in Reed in Year 3. I'm hoping that he's taking a few weeks off chugging protein shakes to gain weight, let his body heal, and decompress his brain.

Then, hit the weight room to put on 15+ lbs in the offseason and work on his consistency. When he's ON, he's GREAT. Year 3 we see more of that.

All while the staff work on snagging some stud OL to protect him better than the 7-sack showing against Miami
