Man not having the Ags in the Cotton Bowl has tanked their ticket market. Tickets as low as $50 bucks this AM.

You mean a bowl in Texas is less valuable when a Texas team isn't in it?

$50 is more than just "less valuable" for the CFP quarterfinals. That's shockingly low.

As of Monday afternoon, the get-in price for the Rose Bowl on major secondary ticketing platforms was nearly $200, but the cheapest seats for the other three games all cost less than $40
That was a 109mph backhanded slap....and I'll allow it..greg.w.h said:
We definitely should expand the CFP until all tickets are free in the secondary market like bowl games ESPN owns…

There's parking passes that are being listed for more than some tickets. Pretty crazy

Going to disagree because of the round of 8 moves to campus the committee has even more influence .Tceh getting a quarter final game in Lubbock would be wrong.
The bowls are still making money because of TV rights they are just making less money because of soft sales
If Tceh were in Dallas ( which I am
Still a little unclear on why they aren't ) the market would not have totally collapsed

Wait... why would a game in Lubbock be wrong for Tech? Are you suggesting due to location it would be less than par? Serious question... not trying to argue or debate... Thanks

Yea, I'm one of those suckers.
I bought tix for $604 each on selection Sunday as a calculated risk. Sold them back for $84 per. Never hedging on the Ags again

I think what he is saying is that tech shoulnt be a 4 seed they should be lower, so them getting a home game in Lubbock in round 2 would be an even bigger advantage for them on top of the already big advantage of getting a bye they should never have had because they played such a crap schedule
At least, that's how I take it
I don't disagree with that, but the bigger issue is fixing the seeding of the teams
It was a complete joke this year

If the game is not a sellout, the schools in it will go bankrupt from not being able to afford their NIL commitments!

yet smu over alabama last year and miami over notre dame this year
the "they just want eyeballs" doesn't carry much weight
the truth is, they are using terrible metrics to decide the rankings.

Yes and those metrics tend to include ensuring the best matchups not the "correct" matchups if we had a good system in place. Your comment is noted but at the end of the day my point is a lot more than who are the best 12 teams goes into this.

It's not so much about "eyeballs" as it is representing all power conferences
That's why Miami got in over notre dame
The power conferences run this thing and they want their teams in there
I'm sure there was pressure from the acc to make sure they got a team in
It's likely why they used that f'ed up sos metric otherwise you'd have even more sec teams on there than what made it
It's likely vandy or texas get in if they use a real sos metric and Miami is out, plus tech would be seeded between 7th and10th while A&M and ole miss would have both been ahead of Oregon as well
