We had an easy schedule in 2025, it won't be that easy in 2026.

But I thought it would be fun to make a prediction on 2026 based on what we know today. I will bump it up same time next year so see how I did. Everyone, post your predictions too.

I think we will NOT make the playoff but the team will be a stronger and better coached one with a bright 2027.

Lets hold off on these threads till at least mid January once the portal is done.

We don't know who is going to be on our roster, nor who we will be lining up against.

But going 10-2 next year I would think would be a great year, but no way I see that.

Yeah, need to wait and see what we do in free agency. Early, on paper it looks like a really tough schedule. But no one knows what their team is gonna look like.

TexAgs predictions will be something like:

January: 8-4
Spring game: 9-3
Pre Fall camp: 10-2
Post Fall camp: 12-0, National Champions.

8-4

10-2 is reasonable.

The people predicting 8-4 next year are the same ones who predicted 8-4 or worse for this season lol. You can't fix stupid.

I'll say 7-5. I picked us to go 5-7 this season so it was a blast for me. I've learned to temper my expectations and it makes it much more fun.

It may be meaningless but it is for fun. Let's lighten up and relax during Christmas week. No knows what will happen and I am not looking to be 100% right.

man i have no idea. i think our schedule will be tougher but year 3 could lead to a better overall team.

i will say 9-3 no clue which teams we will lose to but i thibk elko is at the bare minimum bringing up our floor as a program.

We lose a ton of starters which is bad but someone on our staff is an A+ portal recruiter. If that person is still on staff I like our chances.

Being in the playoff hinders portal momentum, as the coaches spent the last two weeks figuring out how to...never mind.

We lose 4 OL, Howell, KC, Lee and several others.

Our schedule gets much harder. I see 7-5 to 9-3

Reed needs a clean pocket else he makes bad decisions. With any pressure, his mechanics break down.

tu showed how to shut him down. Until Reed improves, teams with lesser talent will exploit his weaknesses.

Not even close to a guarantee. It all depends how everyone else shakes out.

What if those two are the only two on our schedule in the top half in the SEC? You'll hear the same weak schedule arguments again, despite nobody in the media likely picking us to beat Tennessee or Texas before the season.

Until proven otherwise, 1 loss teams from the Big 12 are to be given the highest possible ranking, Big 10 teams with similar records to SEC will be ranked higher. That's the way the media and committee have trended.

I will predict any SEC team with at least 9 wins will be a playoff contender. With 9 SEC games +1 non-conf P4 it's going to be brutal for everyone. Ten wins should be a playoff lock under the new SEC scheduling format. We're going to find out if the CFP committee is serious about SOS real fast.

We already found out this year. It meant literally zero. Just play a schedule of Kansas, Rutgers, Maryland, Oklahoma State, and West Southern California Tech and make sure your QB is injured in your loss to a mediocre team and you get a bye week.

Meanwhile, teams that go on the road to a blue blood and win are considered the worst 1 loss team.

The SEC teams we beat this year were a combined 12-44 in SEC play. That's horrible.

That's the only reason we won 11 games. We were a paper tiger.

They are purportedly building a war chest for the best o line that money can buy, and are looking to sign that stud RB from Florida. Add in another year for Arch to develop and the fact that the Ags can't score on their defense, and I fail to see how you can push this narrative.

Pretty darn confident you are a CFP team and possibly into the SEC Champ. Take that prediction any day!

I think 10-2 is our upside.

9-3 more likely unless we see strong upward swing in a few critical positions.

I think Vegas will have us at over/under 8.5 wins for 2026. I'd take the under.

Good news 3 very winnable games at home to start the season. Hopefully Kiffen can't get the ship at LSU righted immediately and we get out of Baton Rouge with a win 3 more winnable games 2 at home and at Mizzou

The realistic possibility of being 7-0 going to Tuscaloosa is possible and this is what off season threads are get used to it or take 8 months off from the Zoo

We're replacing at least 6 on offense (most of the OL) and 7 on defense (most of the DL). We won't be nearly as experienced.

Look how that turned out for South Carolina this year - with a QB with a similar skill set.

Loss of most of your experienced depth usually doesn't lead to a good following season - especially when you had probably the weakest SEC schedule in the history of being in the conference.
