I spoke with my close friend in the department. He told me the play call was situational.
If they get the first down then let them score a TD.
Try to prevent a first down though.
I asked if he had proof or something visible showing that happened and he says yeah, just look at the replay.
Players know what angles to take to stop a TD run. The players took aggressive angles towards keeping the runner behind the line of scrimmage and when he turned the corner he was home free. TD.
It actually makes sense and if not for Klein's bad play calling, we could have legitimately won at the end of the game.
