Not doubting that is true but isn't the guy posting that one of the old realignment "experts" that was mostly wrong? I might have him confused with someone else, though.

Reason I think it may be true is because ND's AD had been a little b**** over this.

Maybe they can create a special network for the non football sports and sell it to ESPN. If they need filler the horn network has hours of bevo chewing cud to fill the gaps.

If the ACC football teams on their 2026 schedule cancel on them, they'll be scrambling to put together a decent group of 5 schedule.

I seem to remember we've cancelled games on short notice before. I just wonder if ND contracts are more iron clad. It probably wouldn't be hard to get any claims dismissed in court.

ND did this to themselves. This is not the 1980's where 20 plus teams were independent. It's time for the Irish to join a conference and stop thinking being independent is edgy.
Taxes are just a yearly subscription to the country you live in.

They meant FOR football.

But the tweet states ND is looking for a non-football scheduling partner to move their athletics out of the ACC. This is the sweet partial membership deal they have with the ACC. Why would the BIG or SEC accept that agreement without ND football membership? ND will of course never join a conference for football scheduling because they have the NBC TV deal.

I don't know. Its not like the ACC got nothing from their arrangement with Notre Dame. Certainly at the time they made it, the really needed a shot in the arm. So the ACC got 4-5 games against ND.

ND is dumb that way. Just like Dodds was dumb with the LHN. It was his folly. I was a lawyer for some wealthy sips back in the 90s. Dodds was pushing for investors in the sip network back then. I had o sit in those pitches a time or two. I sat in chairs with arms so I could rest my left elbow on my chin with my index finger up towards my ear and my third long finger under my chin. Why? To keep my jaw from dropping or to hide a giggle.

Even in my head, those numbers never worked, like ever. Nor was it even close to being NCAA compliant with what was being proposed. I was not a sports lawyer by any means but being a college football fan all of my life, I knew NCAA rules. But Dodds was obsessed with it.

So when Dodds was talking about moving to the PAC (a Fox Sports property) and decimating the Big XII (ESPN) the Boys in Bristol knew his Kryptonite and used it. He was rickrolled.

Every where I've been reading, ND is getting slammed like a wh*re on a Friday night. No one is taking their side except for their own fan base. I defiantly did not have ND melt down on my 2025 bingo card.

The ACC Network showed the Miami-ND game pretty much on repeat the few days before the selection show. I guess ND didn't care for that.

I guess not! And I can understand their position on that I think. In the end ND will still get their dispensations. This "MOU" that kicks in next year that says they get a playoff spot guaranteed as long as they are in the top 12 means this won't happen to them in the future. Or at least it would be a lot harder. Notre Dame went 0-2 to start the season and only got as low as #24. In four weeks they were #16. Two games after that they were #12 again.

The Irish string together a couple of first downs, and they'll get a first place vote from some voters.
