The committee has an interesting issue on its hands with Oregon sitting at 5. If either TT or UGA lose or heaven forbid both they will have the entire BIG10 on first round bye. In an effort to keep viewership I doubt they will want this scenario. Couple that with a potential Duke win excluding the ACC there could be two Power 5 conferences not playing meaningful ball until New Years.

I'm thinking they put the SEC champ into the top 4, even if is is Bama.

A two loss BAMA one being to FSU and a team 4 spots behind them in the same rankings? I doubt it especially with lots of one loss teams.

SEC champion will get a bye, 100% guaranteed.

The question is what happens if BYU beats tech. Tech would definitely fall out of the top 4 or 5, IMO, but BYU won't jump that high.

SEC doesn't impress the committee this year. I don't think the Big10 gets three byes, but Bama isn't getting one either

The top 4 will be some combo of

Ohio State
UGA
Indiana
Tech

Even if UGA loses, they'll only drop to 4.

Unless Tech loses, then Oregon hops in.

Tech isn't losing though

What is the best case for the Ags from the championship games? Any chance to move up one and play one of the auto bids and what would have to happen? I don't see us moving down, but our opponent could/likely will change, so what would we prefer?

we're in no man's land. For anyone above us moving down, there's probably someone below us moving up.

I think they might move tech just below us at 7 if they lose and then either Oregon or Ole miss slides in to get 4th bye BYU then bumps out ND

They can say conference championship takes priority...and I wouldn't be upset about that....SEC champ should get a buy every damn year, no questions asked. It is the hardest league to win, being the top 2 to get invited Atlanta alone good enough to get a bye.
