1. Blown chance at playing for an SEC Championship. That would have been meaningful even in a loss.
2. Taaffe and the game with an INT. There is no justice
3. Reed Adams and Howell not backing up their talk.
4. Knowing that we could have won ofc we utilized Reed's legs more. Just baffling.
5. Having a 12 year old son who has never seen us beat them.
6. Loss of a bye in the playoffs.
7. Sip game plan showing a massive weakness in our run defense that will be exploited in playoffs.
8. Going into work with sips everywhere.

Klein and Elko leaving no doubt that they have no idea how to coach against t.u./Sark.
It's very worrisome and getting completely swept under the rug because "who cares? We're in the playoffs."

The lack of intensity in the 2nd half screamed "players know we are in the playoff". And yes Klein my God. It's year 2 and Elko took us from 8-4 to this so not off his train yet.

Nothing comes easy. We made strides last year. Huge strides this year - we figured out how to win in Nov. Now one 3 more pieces to the puzzle. beat t u, get to the conf title and then win it! I guess piece four is to win it all.

What came with our advancement this year is making the playoffs - something we have all been dying to have a seat at. We are in the hunt for the natty!

I have just decided to do everything i can to forget friday and enjoy the rest of the year. Limiting my internet time, but I can't quit my texags addiction so I am still here. but I probably need ro stay away from here too.

Oh I'm not off the train but anyone who isn't concerned by Sark pantsing Elko two years in a row is whistling past the graveyard.
We were a completely different team on Friday than we have been. Yes, we've all seen the cracks but the complete lack of intensity was palpable from both the players AND coaches. Elko looked lost whenever they showed him.

Our last conference game was South Carolina. Reed was horrible for an entire half. So hard to say the second half vs the sips was completely unprecedented. The stats on Reed's inaccuracy are clear. Our wide receivers are just awesome.

Using Reed's legs went out the window early because they can't grow real grass in Austin.

To your point 4...
I think Reed was hurting more than was let on and that certainly limited Reeds dual threat ability

To be fair, most teams we've played have exploited weaknesses in our run defense, particularly with mobile quarterbacks. I can't figure why we have such a hard time fitting gaps.

I think this is a big part of it. We had players tweaking ankles and knees in the first half because that turf sucks. Better to play it safe and have our players 100% for the playoffs than risk an injury in a game that, assuming we take care of business in the playoffs, really doesn't matter*.

*And yes, I know it is blasphemy to say, as an Ag, that beating the sips doesn't matter. What I mean by that is that we were in the playoffs regardless. Our worst case scenario in losing that game meant not getting a first-round bye. It is my opinion that a completely healthy roster is more important.

this team has massively over achieved all year. Recruiting is killing it for 26/27

This is going to be a great run, could not be more excited about the future

Special team's leadership has to change! Inconsistent performance all season. The blocking, punting, kicking schemes were worse than the best FCS school, like how and why does this not get fixed???

I like the majority of Klein's play calling and think he is a really good OC, however, I thought after the Auburn goal line fiasco, someone would remind him about momentum and what was going on in the game.

Everyone mentions the 3rd and 2 40-yard pass play call which was absolutely atrocious, but on the second drive of the first quarter with A&M deep in their own territory, Owens runs for 5 yards on first down, Reed already looks off, and then Klein calls two pass plays and we end up punting -WTF

It is like a four year old needs to be be in the booth alongside him when he can't see the forest for the trees and remind him what plays have a higher probability of working. We need to keep the chains moving to keep the opposing offense off the field and rest our defense and if we are inside the opponents 10 yard line and we have the momentum maybe running on third down and kicking a field goal would suffice (see Auburn and South Carolina).

Also, hopefully Moss comes back and Smith needs more carries than Owens.

First game all year we were out coached in. My view is our staff was distracted by the contract extension and bonuses agreed to after the SC game. Signs of this were:

1. False Starts on 3rd and 4th down, team was not coached to be prepared and disciplined for this.
2. Inability to stop tu from the fg at the end of the 1st half. Momentum shift.
3. Poor play selection and planning for the first possession of the 3rd Q. Going 3 and out there was a killer. We should have had a game plan of high confidence plays to get at least 2 first downs to flip the field.
4. Failure to recognize and adjust during the 3rd Q.

I like this staff, but human nature was to let our 11-0 record and pats on the back that came from the contract extension and bonuses led to our team not being as prepared as they needed to be. tu staff and team were more desperate and better prepared, made better half time adjustments allowing their inferior team to win.

Nick Saban says you should never waste a failure. Players are more focused on taking good coaching after a loss like this. Good film study and holding the team and assistants accountable in a positive manner will hopefully result in much improvement in the upcoming playoff run. I trust Elko to have us ready for whatever is to come.

Well said. We will get them next year at Kyle. Your son will get his first taste of victory.
