I'm not the biggest Klein fan, but the texags seesaw of Klein is either gods gift to football or the worst coach in history depending on that week's outcome is tiresome.

I really want to know how our special teams coach continues to draw a check because I've never seen it in such a dire situation

My opinion is that they both need to go.

The Defensive game plan was just as Bad as Klein's offense strategy.
Elko is the guru, So blame Elko just as much. He S___ the bed as well.

Therefore our overall Game Plan - Was weak and based upon fear...
It totally took away everything that we are good at on both sides of the ball.

Last night - We were not the aggressors that we have been all season.
We received all of the punches and never really delivered any blows...

This. 100-% Neither of these coaches are SEC quality. Horrible play calling, missing field goals, blocked punts. These guys need to go somewhere a little easier and learn before coaching against the big boys.

The sips are in Klein's head and have been for quite some time.

Texas A&M deserves an elite OC. Klein is definitely not elite.

More than anyone else Klein cost us that game last night.

I hate to say it but I think we need to think about getting a new OC. More than anyone else he's to blame for that loss. Look at what he did and didn't do:
Klein:
called scared
avoided deep drops
avoided vertical shots
kept going horizontal
attacked the wrong part of Texas's defense
didn't use play-action to punish a weak secondary
never put Texas corners in conflict
treated the OL like it was a liability

When your OC calls a game like that, it is not surprising you get an L. He can get away with that kind of crap against a team like Miss St but not a team with elite talent like Texas!

My opinion: Klein is a really good OC. Some wtf moments the last few weeks but most of those are players making poor decisions. We have gotten away from 2 huge things that defined our success the first 9 weeks of the season - dominating, physical run game and safe throws to our stud WRs in space to let them get YAC.

Scheme: 6/10
Preparation: 8/10
Playcalling: 8/10

Is Klein in charge of Reed making bad reads, WR's dropping passes, or RB's falling down?

Yup. Klein sees that logo and pisses down his leg.

The bigger problem is that Elko heard those plays get called and didn't do anything to stop it. Coupled with the fact that Sark appears to be his kryptonite, it ain't good.

5 yards deep handoff when you need one yard. I know a lot of coaches love this style but to me it makes a zero sense to do it every time

Jimmy Jones said there are three phases. off. Def. And ST.
Have to win 2/3 to win a game. We lost all three phases.

The kicking game is absolutely atrocious. Can't make kicks. Can't flip the field.
Defense was gashed over and over by one of the worst running games in the sec.
Offense was loaded with mental mistakes and poor turnovers.


What exactly is the positive?

The record is great but it's against the bottom half of the sec. We've been winning most of those games every year.

We still can't beat the top half.

How do you think that's going to translate in the playoffs? It is unlikely we get past the second round. Possible. But odds are poor.

I am all for having the best OC money can buy, so far all of you offensive savants please list all of the OC's out there who do better than 30+ in 10 games with:

A 62% passing QB
A pedestrian RB group without Moss
An OL with 1 NFL player
Kicking game is ****, so more pressure on offense

Who are the OC's that would guarantee better results?

BTW - the offense hasn't been the same since Craver got injured. He isn't running away from DB's and KC gets more attention. Then the lack of talent elsewhere becomes more apparent against talented teams.

Klein would look OK if we had a decent offensive line and consistent performance on special teams.


But that's not the case.

We easily know two coach's heads that need to roll when it's time for heads to roll.

We have some great players, but our roster isn't deep. We're a different team with Moss and Craver healthy. We need improvements at LB and secondary. I hope our wins help our recruiting.

Before the season, fans were saying we were going to waste a favorable schedule and go 8-4. We've actually fared well, all in all. Let's regroup and see if we can rebound from this. I think we can.

You don't think we have a decent offensive line? I've considered it a strength all season.

I was only able to listen on the radio but I was really wondering about the base defense. It seemed we moved from a 4-2-5 to maybe a 3-3-5 or a 4-3-4? We should have the athletes to match up with almost anyone. Seemed to rarely get pressure and lost containment. Whatever it was meant to strengthen seems to create other problems unless it was more due to the calls being mis-timed. It's a chess match, sometimes one gets lucky, sometimes not so much. I get the value of springing something new on an opponent, however, maybe against arch-rival at night on the road might not have been the right choice. Muscle memory would be important in those circumstances I would think. Your observations and thoughts?

"Decent" may have been an uncharitable word choice, but no, I don't think they're great.

This is the first year in ages that the offense has had a pulse. Klein isn't the issue.
