I'm sure he's a great guy…

However…

His habit of calling "cute plays" at the wrong time seems to scream "look at me"…

We used to beat Arky during Briles' tenure there because he simply wouldn't run ground and pound when they were gashing us… That wasn't sexy enough for Kendall… He had to be cute…

Last nights 3rd and 2 overthrow to KC was a STUPID play call… Even if it had worked… As simple as that… STUPID…

Game changed right there..

His ego wrote a check the team couldn't cash…

He is atrocious. He may be a good OC, but he sucks at calling plays. We're 0-2 against tu largely because of him.

What I do know is Arkansas, Miss State, and Vanderbilt scored twice as many points against Texas with half the talent (supposedly half the talent)

As far as I can tell he's made this team almost equal to UTEP and Kentucky

Of course he's very knowledgeable and has a high football IQ. He is an OC for a P5 program.

He also shows narcissistic tendencies which is his downfall. I cannot count how many times in big games he calls some unique play out of the blue that is obvious we didn't practice it much if at all and it failed miserably.

It has the, "Hey look at me I'm a genius offensive coordinator" written all over it.

If Klein would stop trying to be cute and aurora farming, we would likely be #1 with all double digit comfortable wins.

Right now he's riding on having a very athletic QB who saves plays by showing he's a RB that can throw a spiral.

Klein needs to call plays that will work. Not 40 yard low percentage pass plays when it's 3rd and 2 and we are running well and have the lead. That play was the turning point.

He's just biding his time until the K-State job opens up. As long as he's not atrocious, they won't care about his brain farts here.

I hope Kline learns to adjust his play calling after listening to Marcel post game.
Stated they were dropping 7 into coverage and we didn't pound the rock
Tight ends and rb passes were killing tu all year and we didn't go after their weaknesses
Was a bad offensive strategy imho against tu defense

What if he runs the ball on 3rd and 2 and it gets stuffed? Texags would lose their minds that he is not innovative. The OC of an 11-1 team that beat ND on the road with offense(not defense) is a good OC. Texags just doesn't watch OCs of other teams.

He's an average B12 OC and a terrible SEC OC.

He calls games scared and gets too cute when 2 yards is all we need.

Knowing Klein...3rd and 2 run play up the damn middle. Hell, give it to Smith more on that up the middle. Where was TE play? I wasn't fond of his play calling last year, and still not a big fan this year. We'll see if he can adapt/ change in CFP play but I doubt it.

Our overall Game Plan - Was weak and based upon fear...
It totally took away everything that we are good at.

Last night - We were not the aggressors that we have been all season.
We received all of the punches and never really delivered any blows...

I don't like having a camera in his face when he appears to be calling plays.

100% agree. I see this all the time in people. It is especially prevalent in upper echelon management types. They have a NEED to be all important. Their position in their role as top dog is not good enough. So, whenever the opportunity for greatness presents itself, they do something outlandish in order to validate that role and their ego. It's angering because they already KNOW THE ANSWER. But they can't help themselves. It's not unlike playing back yard football when you are appointed the all time quarterback. Sure, you can win the game by handing off and getting a few yards at a time, or you can throw a bomb to your one guy 30 yards away and be a huge hero. I would throw the bomb....because it's backyard football...and I am not a pro....and I have a big ego...and I like to be the center of attention when it counts to my kids.....none of these are qualities you want in a real game with real wins needed from someone in charge.

It's like jumping off the stage at the end of a great tune, doing the splits and touching your toes for the big finish.

You have to nail the landing, or you look like a complete dumbass.

CK should not be attempting this sort of thing. He lost major points in that department last night.

He didn't stick the landing. Or darn near anything else last night. SUCKED.

Our OC still has some growing up to do. The idea that he was on the short list of any major program for a head coaching job was laughable. Last night the game plan was not great. And let's be honest, the offensive failed to execute in certain instances too. But what surprised me most was the fact that we seemed to forget that we can throw the ball to the TEs. Our TEs against their depleted LBs in the first half was a matchup that was never tested. If we head gotten the ball to the TEs early, I think it would have opened up the WRs. I hate losing to Texas but the season starts now. Time to refocus, get healthy and go on a run.

lol. We tried running the ball, and averaged 3 yards a carry without the couple longer runs we had. Hitting crossing routes and stuff was the answer since we didn't have Moss.

lol. The sooner your realize our OL is mediocre run-blocking and our RBs are mediocre besides Moss, the better.

Not having Moss has been major issue as no other RB in the room is close to him. He would have been difference maker last night.

OL has been mediocre and has underperformed vs top competition to run the ball all yr. Does prove we have played weaker competition along the way.

Next ur will be scary on how much this team could be worse.
