Help ! I'm flying to Munich at 5:30 this evening and the game starts one hour later. American Airlines says I can't stream from my DIRECTV Ap. Has anybody had success streaming any other method on American Airlines. I really don't want to have to listen to audio only.

No good advice. Internet is horrible. I had to do updates during notre dame game on an overseas flight. It's a frustrating task.

You might need to VPN the wifi signal if youre international but not sure how well that will work.

If you have a reliable wifi signal then you'll likely be able to find a stream of the game on YouTube

You might not have enough bandwidth to stream video of the game, especially once everyone starts trying. But you should be able to listen to it at a minimum. WTAW.com

$30 for internet on the flight. You buy it after you get on.

The bad news is, you have to have a VPN to watch it.

The good news is, the food in Germany sucks.

Not familiar with AA but United WiFi worked for YTTV game watching ona domestic flight. It didn't have TVs in the headrests. Latest international had TVs in headrests but no great internet. If you get on a Starlink flight, that would do it. No live network TV in any flights in years, not since the Direct TV steaming days.

Also, if your ESPN app gives you BLACKOUT BS, switching WiFi vs cell solved it for the Ole Miss game, but I had to switch to Hulu to get the Georgia game going. BTHOtu

Also read that Albania bans ads, so a VPN there for YT/TV gets rid of ads. May also block local stations though.

You'll need a VPN app. Then sign up for a streaming service. ESPN app won't work - they want access to your actual GPS location and they won't let you access outside the US.

I've had no trouble with the above while streaming Aggie football games while on international flights when the airline says that you can't stream video.

Yeah, haven't flown since 2019, and longer since international. So I guess I'm not much help.

Is the no screens AA only? How about business or first class?

I do recall the last time flying I did prefer connecting to the plane's entertainment via my phone. But it was nice flipping the seat screen to something else, a game or something if on. Even the destination map.

I flew American last Saturday coming home from out of country and streamed the game with their WiFi in the espn app. Picture quality wasn't the best but it beat not watching. You'll be good to go.

Long haul flights on a wide body will still have a screen in the seat in front of you. I flew AA on a 777 last week and they didn't have any live entertainment.

You will have to pay for the WiFi and hope it's good enough to stream over vpn

Recent trip to Ireland ESPN app wouldn't let me stream the games...

Couple folks stream the games live on YouTube, so I got to watch them. One is an Ag in the UAE, IIRC. I pay for YT, not YT TV.

The AA flights to Europe sometimes have live TV but unfortunately it is not the US channels like on domestic flights.

I've had luck sometimes recording the game on Directv Stream then watch the recording instead of the live feed. You're just a minute or so behind.

Brats don't. Beer doesn't.

If you're in Vienna Wienerschnitzel doesn't. Since Wien is in the name you good guess that unless you have gone to Der Wienerschnitzel and had a hot dog.

Have you flown long haul wide body recently? They all have video on the seatbacks.

I flew British Airways the other day, then Air France a couple weeks before that, and then KLM before that. All 787/777/A340 and they all had the screens in seats.

I've gone to Europe several times during the season on AA. None have had live tv. I have paid for WiFi and streamed a game but it was very intermittent.
