Q: Does the team take busses over Austin prior to the game then return to College Station after the game?

(sorry if this is a stupid question. I was wondering if they go to Austin the day prior)

Don't they spend the night before home games in a hotel?

Yes travel team only , it's the same as away games, I assume trying to always keep it very similar approach to game day

I was surprised to see on the itinerary from Stew's post that they actually bussed to and from Austin on gameday in his time.

Guess maybe it was easier to do head counts and bed checks in the days of athletic dorms.

Weird. I would have figured they'd want them well rested in a hotel, rather than waking up early and driving in. But I guess it's less than 2 hours drive.

It was about money back in the SWC days. I want to say they changed the rule to require the visitors to arrive the day before the game after Cougar High nearly missed the start of a game because of mechanical issues with their bus.
