if you are talking "west texas" as lubbock, san angelo, midland/odessa, then no, it definitely is not.

if you are talking actual west texas like the big bend region, then yes, it absolutely is.

I was raised in the Big Bend region and I'm sticking to it's the best Texas. When you see an image of Texas it's likely far west Texas rather than Iola or Henderson or Wharton.

Anywhere with a heavy concentration of Californians is definitely not best Texas!

Also, the Houston area has more people than central Texas, and it definitely isn't best Texas either.
