Look, I get it, Kiffin's rep precedes him.

What I don't get is why this is all on him. What about teams firing coaches midseason and then going after employeed coaches.

What about the transfer portal window? Isn't this the real reason teams are canning coaches so early? Seems to me this is going to happen every year now.

Blame LSU and Florida for going after coaches before the playoffs have even begun. What is Kiffin supposed to do, ingnore better jobs because CFB has awful rules in place?

Perspective matters. Once he's offered and takes that better job - I don't blame him for leaving his old team whenever that happens.

On the other hand, I personally think he's terrible for entertaining other job offers while under a contract and currently pursuing the whole sport's top goal.

It's now a crazy system with the NIL and Transfer Portal. If a team steals a top HC for more money they are also stealing the top talented players and assistant coaches that the new HC can take with him.

Yeah, you are basically buying a coach and many times, a starting lineup...

This. It's a job. Coaches coach for the money. (Elko just leveraged another $4.5M/year out of us.) Just like the players. Nothing about this is surprising or not right.

Kiffin can take down two teams once he makes his choice. So if chooses, LSU, UF and ole ms will be behind the curve and scrambling for 2026 team with signing day not too far away.

All this chaos is good for stable programs like A&M and Georgia etc...

Kiffin could stick it to both of them by stringing them along and then staying put at Ole Miss.

I think Kirby is the best coach out there, followed by Elko. The onside kick was a momentum killer as well as the 4th and 12 by Elko.

I like Kiffin but I think Elko can match his wits.

I'd love to see Kiffin string UF and LSU along and then stay at Ole Miss. They both deserve it. Firing coaches midseason screws their fans, players , and coaches in this crazy transfer and NIL climate.

Technically it is still a school they play for. They have to still register, move, and attend classes at the beginning of January.
