There have been plenty of instances where a highly ranked Aggie team has lost to sip; or a highly ranked sip team just lost to the Texas Aggies...

Finding a way to win close games has been something we just didn't do in prior years. This season has been excellent.

BAS is a term that people either 1) use as a joke to describe frustration or 2) troll with.

I have suggested this more than once. But there was/is some very specific calculus involved:

• you have to be guaranteed a 5-8 seed at 11-1
• you have to align favorably with the most likely projected bracket
• you have to be facing the strong possibility of matching up against an SEC opponent who can exploit your specific weaknesses and beat you to where you drop to a 9 or 10 seed; beware dropping to 11 or 12 because of ACC/G6
• your starters are so banged up you need the rest more than the trip to Atlanta

Under those very specific conditions --with the last one being the most important -- it would make sense to go NFL-paradigm and tank the game. But who's seriously banged up at this point, beyond Moss and Anderson?

Severe and extreme BAS cases will then say we got lucky, it was a fluke, just a flash in the pan….and that we'll need to win 2 to be justifiable.

Don't get me wrong, there will be years when the winner of this game (A&M vs tu) decides a playoff spot, and the stakes will be super high. But, in a year like this, I'll take an L if we can go all the way......

Obviously, I'd take the W and go all the way...but not letting the t-sips in my headspace...

It is okay to hate on the Horns as a joke or for fun but I sense that many people are serious in their hate and would put everything on the line for bragging rights of having beaten a horn. It is silly and smacks of "little brother syndrome".

We should move beyond Texas and any other team. Focus on the ultimate goal (The NC). So as you say I too am okay giving up the Texas game if it guarantees an NC.

If it were practically possible, I would love all our games and 0-77 to Texas if it meant winning the NC.

NC at all cost.
