How do we feel about the lack of stat padding today? I was surprised they didn't even let him play to the half.

Aside from winning out, what do we think he needs to do to lock it down? Still way behind on TDs (unless you count rushing) and completion percentage. For what it's worth, it does feel like he's finally found some level of deep ball touch.

I dont think Elko or Reed gives 2 sht about Heisman at this point (at least enough to risk playoffs). Not sure how much it would have helped anyways knowing the opponent. Committee would most certainly factor that in.

Padded stats against Samford are utterly meaningless.

No one has ever won the hesiman because of how they played against Samford

I like Reed and genuinely admire the way he can shake off bad plays. His comeback last weekend was legendary; I have no idea how he mentally released the first half and came out looking so damn good just twenty minutes later.

Buuut... He doesn't look like a top 3 qb yet. Way, way too many balls sailed over open receivers' heads.

Mendoza's only remaining regular season game is vs Purdue (2-9). I doubt they'd take it from him for losing to Ohio State in their conference title game unless he's awful. Not sure who'd they give it to in that case.

Not sure why anyone care about this. He's been great but he won't win nor should he. There's bigger fish to fry.

Well, maybe it's just a weak year then. I haven't watched enough games to know what's happening in the rest of the CFB world.

Again, I like Reed, but if you think back to other recent Heisman winners like Joe Burrow, Derrick Henry, Manziel, or Jayden Daniels, they had this man among boys aura. Every play you held your breath because you just expected them to do something amazing that dominated the competition.

Reed has his moments, but he just isn't at this level yet.

If you had to choose between a NC and ancillary awards and more draft selections for our best players, I admit strategically that is a tough choice. But otherwise it isn't a choice at all after 86 years (give or take.)

Consistent accuracy is not there yet. Like to see how he grows with another offseason and polishing. He definitely is too 5, but not quite top 3 yet.

It probably should be Pavia up there also. He put on a clinic today
