I wouldn't put it past us to rotate lots of subs and never put our foot on the gas. A 40-20 type of score wouldn't shock me, nor would it bother me. That being said, Samford is so bad that a 70-0 type of score also wouldn't be a shocker.

Elko won't run up the score. And he will rest our best players and keep people off the field who are recovering from even minor injuries if he can.

I don't think that will limit the score much, though. In fact: physically our scout team should be better than equal. But we probably shouldn't test that hypothesis…

I think the focus of the Samford game should be on kicking field goals from everywhere imaginable.

Like, deliberately don't make the third down and have Bond kick from this side of the field, that side of the field, this distance, that distance. Hell, even let the lineman step aside so he can feel the heat.

Maybe don't even wait for 4th down.

Just kick field goals.

He might not run up the score, but I doubt he'd throttle the back ups much either.

He wont punch it in up big with 3 mins left. But, the back ups need real game reps too.

So the first play of the game should be a field goal.

We better show no mercy in the first half. I don't want to feel an ounce of worry this entire game to make up for last week.

Probably wouldnt hurt if the "box score watching CFP committee" to see a score similiar to those beat downs that Ohio St. did against their schedule. Win by 35+.
