I learned a long time ago to not hang out at water coolers, or elsewhere, with tu fans during football season.

Texas is already out of the playoffs. They have nothing to play for but pride and the satisfaction of putting a blemish on our perfect record.

We have a spot in the SEC CG on the line, and a first round playoff bye on the line. The pressure is definitely on us.

I would argue the opposite. Their season is pretty much over and this is their bowl game. We on the other hand, we have the SEC championship game and playoff seeding on the line.

Thread Title starts with "A the pressure is on Texas", then list off why we need to win to reach our goals.

Why do they have pressure? The only thing they are playing for is beating a rival. Thats it.

We are playing for a chance at winning the SEC.

As for me, I will revel in the glory of an A&M victory and trip to SECCG. Yes, i will drink some sip tears, but they will not be the prevalent thought on my mind when we clinch our first playoff appearance and trip to Atlanta.

You're going to have a 7-4 team with no shot at the CFP going against an 11-0 team trying to get into the SECCG and possibly a 1 or 2 seed in the CFP. I feel like the pressure will be on us.

I mean we have a chance to go undefeated and go to the SEC Championship game, vs being 11-1 with our only loss being to our rival and possible loss of a playoff bye, sooooo id say there's a lot of pressure on us.

This is the reality.
I think we have way more pressure on us and its not even close.
Imagine having this " dream, magical, season" , our best start since 1992, only the 5th time we have won 10 games in our program history...and we dont even make a Conference title game and cant even beat Texas.

Take 2012 for example, our best team in recent history and had the Heisman Trophy winner. A player that was called a generational player...and yet we finished 3rd in our division.
And the next year we were a .500 SEC team with the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.
Yes those teams brought alot of $$ to Texas A&M and yes we got a big new stadium out of it.. but didnt do much as far as moving us into the upper echlon of college football ion the playing field. And LSU was our biggest rival on the schedule at that time and we were 0-2 against them.

The only thing that would subside having this season and then losing to Texas and not making the SEC Champ game , would be going on to win the national title.
But we have gone on and on about the joke Texas and Big 12 for the last 13 years and in year 1 Texas comes to Kyle Field and wins and goes to the SEC title game. Year 1 and here we are 14 years in and still trying to make our first appearance.

No we 100% have to go into Austin and win that ballgame. Letting Texas come into the SEC and going 2-0 against us in first 2 years, and both years knocking us out of the SEC title game. That cannot happen.

IMO its probably the most important A&M football game in recent memory....or at least since last years Texas game lol

Agreed and this is a rivalry game so throw the records out the window. I believe we are the better team but we have to be the better team on that day or it won't go well.

Mixed bag. Lose to us and Sark will feel the temperature rise, heading into the offseason. Win...and it shows that they should be strongly considered, for CFP, having beaten 2 x top 12 teams. Even though that ship has sailed with this committee.

Desperate and motivated Texas is dangerous Texas. To wreck the Ags would be the highest point of their season (like many years of the Aggies to them).

This to me is the most farcical argument the out side media can make. By the end of the season we will have played 5 teams that were preseason ranked in the top 25. What that tells me is that we have played immensely talented teams. Those teams have largely underperformed due to coaching. So to say we've played an easy schedule is crap. We have out coached and out executed every single opponent we have played.


Ps this same media outlets had us projected 8-4 and had us on major upset alert since the ND game. They seem unable to fathom us exceeding expectations.
