What the hell are they smoking? They aren't even going to beat Arkansas next weekend. We will march in to Austin 11-0 while they'll be on a 2 game skid. Mark it down.

They would have to beat us badly and still have the stars align with several teams ahead of them being upset, to even have a glimmer of hope.

Even if they are able to stomp Arkansas by 70, an 8-4 Texas team doesn't make the playoffs.

I wonder of any of this is paid advocacy. If you signed a contract to prop up a school for the season, you gotta follow through until the season is over.

The media is just saying what they have to for viewers to tune in and watch college football. I doubt they actually believe what they're saying about tu.

ESPN is just hyping the brand. Most of the decent commentators recognize that it's very unlikely.

Don't dance on their grave yet though. I think they are a long shot if they win out, but it could happen if there is some chaos in the teams currently projected to go 10-2. They would be the top 9-3 team and 2-2 against teams in the field (OU and A&M). Probably need Bama to lose the Iron bowl, both USC/Oregon to stumble, Miami to lose another.

Theres no way they go to the playoff. None. However, some voters will still put them there.

They'll do everything they can to get them a shot because of eyeballs.

I can't wait to see them lose. Bowl game or playoff.

Not convinced the "ESPN/Disney Ho" won't get her way ($$$$$$$$$$$$) come selection day. Committee has already been bought and paid for. They're just waiting for their "good time" with bevo and his handlers.

I've come to the realization over the last several years - that if something doesn't pass the smell test.- it stinks.

The espn tu hype does not pass said test.

Everybody here knows that College football is an entertainment business and the media is going to hype up games and matchups to make money, right? As soon as you realize this, then you shall find peace.

Any year that blue bloods like Texas, USC, Notre Dame, Alabama, Miami, Michigan, are still in the top 25 in November they're going to try to gerrymander some math to get them into the post-season for TV money. Just accept it for what it is.

Until those teams reach the loss total where it would be humiliating to have them in the field, they're still alive. ESPN wants Texas to beat us. They probably wouldn't mind Indiana getting upset by Purdue and blown out by Ohio State so they can get rid of them and get USC up the ladder some more either.

The only solution to the hypocrisy is to keep winning games so there's no doubt you belong.

Major advertisers spent a lot of money on tu related commercials this year like the Bud Light one and the one where bevo gets away from the little weirdo. ESPN needs tu front and center through the playoffs. The CFP money that conferences and schools get originates primarily from a one billion dollar plus deal with ESPN. So, the knob slobbering must go on.

There is no way in literal hell that they'd be talking about us as a playoff team if we had 3 losses. Hell, we wouldn't be in the top 25.

And it's not just 3 losses for them. It is two beat downs with one of those being to a 7-loss team.
And don't get me started on their two miracle OT wins against a couple of the bottom feeder teams.

Ypu lost me when you mentioned t.u. as a blue blood. What have they done to earn that title? Nothing. Clemson has more trophies in the recent era and they aren't blue blood.

the blowU win over Bama really hurt their chances of making at 9-3. Add in how do you leave out a 10-2 Vandy for a 9-3 tu.

i think there is still a path. but odds are extremely, extremely low.

Even if they're NOT in the playoffs, you can expect to see those adds run constantly during the games.

Ole Piss, A&M, OU, UGA, and probably Vandy all finish 10-2 or better - thats 5 SEC teams. Not room for a 9-3 tessus when you have Notre Dame at 10-2 and three B1G teams (OSU, IU, Oregon). Thats 9 teams +plus Big 12 champ tech, leaving 2 spots for the ACC and highest G6.
