Been waiting for the film guy's video for this week...but the uh, delivery here on the board is interesting to say the least.

I feel violated and I haven't even watched the video.

Easy to see why 11 was defensive player of the game.

I watched that too OP. I thought it was a great breakdown. You should call out in your thread title more, though, how many ****s (Mizzou interior line failures) are in the video.

Re: the Mizzou player saying it's like we knew their calls. What's the story on that?

The eye test said our D dominated that game, outside of a few splash plays. Between the two 1Q plays and the late, inconsequential TD run, almost 120 out of 280 yards were gained in those 3 plays. That means we limited a very good rushing offense to 160 yards on 50ish plays.

Even a couple of the successful runs highlighted in the video showed the defense in great position, the RBs from Missouri just made guys miss and got hidden yardage. Everyone nationally is saying "yeah 200 yards rushing allowed" is lazy just looking at end results. Most of the second half was not as aggressive, protecting the big lead

That to me has been the biggest point of success this year. The guys that seemed very average or 'just a guy' when we got them to transfer:


Onyedim-just a guy from Iowa State, thought he was a depth filler
Nate Boerkircherdidn't even know we had a transfer from Nebraska till this guy won us the ND game
Mario Craver- a MSU wr was the 15th rated receiver in the portal yet outperforming most if not all (as our SECOND best receiver!!)

Craver was discussed a little but NOBODY talked about Oneydim or Boerkircher yet their impacts to this team have been incredible for not being stat padders. I think that's where our coaches are succeeding. It'll be guys like this next year.. guys with a year or 2 of eligibility coming from an average or smaller program and being a key cog in the wheel to keep the success up. Just amazing!

Credit to the players, but also have to give Elko and crew a lot of credit for seeing their potential, getting them to come, preparing them and then giving them the opportunity to be successful.

This is the best TEAM I've seen as an Aggie fan - going back to 1981.

Hold on, I've been told by the "experts" that we have **** for defense.

The very first play he reviewed is why my two sons make fun of me for yelling "set the edge!" and "contain!", simple mental mistakes that you have been coached on 10000x lead to big plays. If #27 does what he is supposed to do, that is a short gain.

Thankfully Elko is a master at adjustments and in game coaching on defense. There are still some busts and leaks, but as RC would say they give scholarships too.


I expect a clean and downhill game vs USC and for our front to overwhelm USC, not with #s just pure violence and talent, and limit Sellers to a really poor game.
