Does anyone think their HC would stay in TurdHole, Texas for $4.5M/yr or go to a place like FL, LSU, Auburn? Thoughts?

Neither is College Station. Pay someone millions of dollars and he'll live anywhere.

Yeah but the weather is better in Gainesville. Lubbock weather is hell between the dust storms, snow and ice storms. Plus it is just windy all of the time and flat. Might as well be in Kansas because there's nothing between them except a barbed wire fence and it's down. (As the adage goes.)

McGuire ain't going anywhere. He's a Texas football guy. He's gonna be loyal to who gave him a chance. Plus having Cody Campbell support your efforts helps a bunch.

Besides, why go fight it out with A&M, Georgia, Bama, Tennessee, OU, etc when all you have to beat is Iowa St, West Va & Cincinnati to win the conference and get in the playoff.

It is easy to get around since all of the streets are in a grid pattern, except for one roundabout. When I lived in Lubbock, it was still dry. Had to drive out to The Strip to buy any alcohol. PITA.

Yea, but that's their only option. they don't have multi million dollar job offers in other cities.

Don't know his motivations, but most coaches are crazy competitive. If he gets a good SEC job offer I don't see him passing on it to stay in the Big 12.

Joey isn't going anywhere. He loves Lubbock and Lubbock loves him back. He's going to be remembered in the same vain as Leach and Dykes but he's actually going to win conference championships in Lubbock.
