For someone who did not attend A&M, I can't think of anyone who has done more to support our school since he showed up as an assistant coach in 1972. With the exception of one year spent in L.A. he has been a staunch supporter of TAMU since that time. Congratulations Coach and Happy birthday!

I used to work at a local lumberyard. Coach Slocum would come in occasionally to get something for his ranch. He always helped load up his truck and always had a few minutes to chat.

He was a great football coach and is a good man.
