Yep. It is already crazy and that is without potential moves at FSU and Auburn. Can't ever remember a coaching carousel like this offseason. Unfortunately, I don't think we will be spared either.

I don't see Elko leavings, but there are going to be so many dominoes falling, that I suspect that some of Elko's assistants may be offered promotions and will leave.

Woodward has no wiggle room for an unproven head coach to lead the team. The safe bet in this case would be Jimbo.

As much ad this will upset some ags- we need to pay elko. Tomorrow. Add in Klein as well. Make it hurt for someone to come get him.

I get that he hasn't won anything. But, I dont really want to be going through another change this year or next year. Im not smart enough to come up with the deal that is friendly to both parties, but, get him committed here for the long term

I wouldn't be surprised to see usc come open as well.

I could see Briles getting a shot at one of the lesser schools that gets their coach poached to a big school. Say North Texas keeps going like they are and lose their coach to one of these big openings, or even UAB. Briles getting a look from one of these schools that isn't as concerned about image wouldn't surprise me. He isn't going to get one of the big name jobs, but he could be the back fill to the smaller school that loses their coach to the big job. Then start his image rehab for the next big cycle in 3-5 years.

Briles has attempted multiple comebacks. He gets forced out with each deal.

I think his only hope is for a small, private school to provide an opportunity.

ETA: Briles is apparently coaching in the Italian Football League and is a 2x Italian Bowl Champion.

I don't know if they can afford it. $50 million is a lot for them, and Kelly seems like he's going to be an ***hole and fight like a jilted wife. Woodward may also get ****canned, and even the university leadership is in transition. Not sure anyone is going to want to walk into that ****show.

Elko has a good thing going here and stability. He knows we have more resources than lsu. AFAICT he likes the university and culture, and his wife really seems to like it here. There will probably be some negotiations based on how the rest of the season goes, but I don't see him leaving.
