For those of us who haven't been following them closely, how do they stack up against the likes of Arky and LSU?

Offense somewhere in between, defense comparable to LSU. Better RB than either team. QB injured in week 9.

Should be a team we can handle.

We have to focus in the bye week. No need to focus on a game 2 weeks ahead.

They lost their QB yesterday to a dislocated ankle. The replacement is a dual threat freshman that has some size.

I think they are going to be a less talented Arkansas on offense with a better defense.

If we play like we did last night, I think the Ags win by 7+

They appear to have no kicker capable of kicking more than 30 yard field goals. QB going down hurts them a lot, IMO. We'll need to contain and confuse the fish.

Have to win bye week first…

They have the best rushing offense in the SEC. And the second best overall defense. It's gonna be an interesting game. That said, they have a backup QB in his first start who is a true fish. We'll need to stack the box and force him to beat us with his arm. It's not gonna be an easy game.

They have pounded below average competition and run it down their throats:

  • W 61-6 vs Central Arkansas (219 rushing yards)
  • W42-31 vs Kansas (261 rushing yards)
  • W 52-10 vs Lousisana (427 rushing yards)
  • W 42-6 vs UMass (269 rushing yards)
Not as impessive against SEC competition, especially the last three games:

  • W 29-20 vs South Carolina (285 rushing yards)
  • L 27-24 vs Alabama (163 rushing yards)
  • W 23-17 at Auburn (150 rushing yards)
  • L 17-10 at Vanderbilt (136 rushing yards)
With a new QB, previous post is correct that the focus needs to be on loading the box and stopping the run.

They have the best rushing offense in the SEC based on all games played (including nonconference). Their run game has been slowed considerably in conference play.

If you look at a common opponent in Auburn, Mizzou was under 100 yds rushing … we were over 200

Missouri is a balanced team.

They have two of the SEC's top sack leaders on the DLine and a top tier team defense.

Offensively, Ahmad Hardy is the top RB in the conference. He's good for one giant play per game and protects the ball well.

Kevin Coleman Jr is also Top 10 SEC WR and is a true playmaker.

Matt Zoller will most likely be the QB. He's a 19 year old Freshman who hasn't played meaningful ball in 2 years. He's a 4* QB that's big, talented, and was heavily recruited by Georgia. He missed most of his Sr HS season due to injury but looked good at Vandy yesterday. He was the gem in their last recruiting class.

This should be a great game.

need to give a tip of the cap to the 2021 team

under Jimbo they snapped the Ags' 22-year winless drought in Columbia

so no long streak or anything on the line (or to be broken) Saturday after next

Their defense is tough. Points are going to be highly valued in that game.

mizzou is a tough team. as i had stated before we played LSU, this game vs mizzou concerned me more than the LsU game. mizzou is a better team. they aren't as talented but they are a better coached team and they are physical. it definately appears to help that their qb went down at least on paper it does. will be a hard fought physical game i think we take the W but it will be competitive unless their backup freshman qb craps the bed.

they play physical defense and they can run the ball.

Hardy is one of the better backs in the SEC. That being said without Pribula it will be interesting to see how good they are.

Having very little tape on their QB is going to be unfortunate. At least its a bye week. Im sure they'll dig up HS tape.

Im trying to figure out where Mizzou defense is in the scope of what we have played so far this season

There defense, from
What I have seen is good but opposite of LSU. Their best players are on the line whereas LSUs were in the secondary.

In 1957 A&M went to Columbia, Mo and beat Mizzou Tigers 28-0.

This kid is their 3rd string QB. Next man up.

They have a bye as well to rest up and scheme for us. Will be a good game.

One game at a time. 1-0 per week!

The mizzou boards seem confident they can win and Zoellers getting the start is a blessing. They all feel like Pribula was holding them back.

Best player on the team is the Backup QB..
Their best win is South Carolina, which is one I'm a bit nervous about...

We also went to Columbia in 1992. We didn't play well, but Mizzou was pitiful back then, and we managed to win 26-13. I was a junior at A&M at that time and bought the game PPV for my dorm room. The next year they would come to Kyle and be beaten 73-0.

Hoping for an 11:0 AM KO.

Regardless, we have won at ND and lsu, much more difficult places than Columbia, MO.

They can talk themselves into their backup / 3rd string QB being the best chance to win, but they have not seen a defense like aTm.

Aggies will win this game 38-20ish.

We are the WORST matchup all year for Mizzou -

1/ Our OL/DL combo gives them no advantages
2/ They will get frustrated not able to run the ball
3/ Their Frosh QB will be forced to throw
4/ Our pass rush will destroy him
5/ Our looks will confuse

This is a nightmare matchup for Mizzou... top to bottom.

The ONE area that Mizzou does impress is with their mid-level defenders - they are strong - but our speed on offense should wreck them all day. They "may" be able to slow us down running at the 2nd level.

Ags 41, Mizzou 21 (and it won't be that close - some late make up points to save face).

I hate that we're up against the dreaded backup QB plus he's a dual threat backup QB…will need to have a better defensive plan than we had at Ark. Their defense is athletic and physical. Finally, their hopes of a playoff berth ride on not having another loss this year.

We will need a great and complete game on both sides of the ball.

And my dumbass 18 year old self thought, "Nah, I'm not going to bother finding a date for this one. I just want to go watch a football game by myself and not have to explain what's happening every single snap."

Pribula was a back-up at Penn State for a reason. Pribula is decent but not some world beater.

The back-up Mizz QB may be just as good. He actually did a little better vs Vandy than Pribula did.

Should be a tough game.

Based on how the PSU starter played I'd say the reason Pribula was the backup was questionable.

For what it's worth. Matt Zollers was 14/23 for 138 with a TD and a final QBR of 93.5. Not bad for a guy who was planning on holding a clipboard on the road against a very good team.

I live about four miles from the Mizzou campus. Going to be downloading/installing the app of a local classic rock station that gives away Mizzou game tickets each week. Would be funny as hell (to me) for the "Mizzou Goat" tickets to go to an Ag next week.
