Hypothetically, if any school wanted to guarantee the incentives he'd be leaving on the table (up to 10.5 million) plus 75% of his remaining contract (per the terms, 26.25 million), and then his new contract on top of all that, and he wanted to leave a team currently at 7-0, then I'd show him the door.

He has a perfect set up as it stands right now to be the highest paid coach in the country.

We shouldn't renegotiate jack squat and if we do, then our athletic department and BOR are even dumber than I thought.

Penn state has a $49 million buyout and a $700 million stadium renovation on the books. They aren't looking to break the bank.

Florida and UCLA are not upgrades.

Only schools to be worried about are Georgia, Alabama, t.u., and Ohio State. Don't think any of them will get rid of their coach this year.

It's his 2nd year and there are not SEC games in December. He has already put your 6-6 prediction to shame for the season so maybe you should sit this one out.

The minute the powers that be give him an absurd extension having not yet won a conference championship, i.e., done something different than every other coach the past three decades (Jimbo was given an extension after going 9 and 1 during the Covid year)

We lose to LSU, Mizzou, and Texas.

Would you give up a team and program currently ranked #3 with one of the biggest NIL Portal spends to re start at UF? Seriously?

Elko is getting a pay raise via incentive.

We definitely should not restructure his contract before next season's gauntlet.

he isn't goijg to take another job mid season and very few to no one can outbid us. so let season play out and look at results. who is to say he doesn't go 12-0 by end of season or 8-4. lots of ball left to play and we hold all the cards for the most part. we can slow play it.

And if Bama loses another game this year the long knives will be right back out. Exactly the reason we shouldn't make any offer until we know what this season looks like. If he cuts a deal with someone else in the meantime without knowing what our deal might look like, it's on him.

Its noise to distract from our #3 ranking. Its just like A&M being fined for faking an injury while others are just a blatant.

If he did this, then it was only a matter of time anyway.

Will he likely get a raise from ATM? Yeah, probably. Too many schools looking for coaches. Lots of coaches get pay raises this year.

Plenty of good coaches out there. If he wants out, let him go.

Those that don't think our AD is negotiating a raise with Elko's agent aren't being realistic.

This is how the world works. Elko has this program on the highest trajectory in decades. He deserves to be compensated as such.

There were a lot of blowhards disappointed when he was announced as the head coach, yet there was a consistent group of us that saw the potential before he was at A&M as a DC and while he was at Duke. He has a proven resume everywhere he has been and he is extremely well respected.

I want Elko to be here until he's ready to retire.

To put what they did this year into perspective with extending him/raise

Last season Indiana started their season 10-0
Lost 1st rd of playoffs to Notre Dame 27-17

They're currently 7-0
Combining last season makes them 17-2

Imagine that in Aggieland

The AD should run the contract pass texags before signing it. Helped them avoid disaster when they tried to hire stoops brother.
