The trend of playing desperate teams is annoying… as a fan. But I think it may actually work to sharpen our guys for the home stretch. Here's to hoping… It's gone about like this:

ND in game 3, where ND was hopelessly desperate not to go to 0-2, we then played a desperate and motivated Auburn after the OU loss, and then a State team that is desperate for anything… only to turn around and play the most desperate of them all in Florida.

I see this as a 10 point W, but with plenty of stress.

Florida just got a big win against a ranked opponent. salvaged their season……..And I would expect them to go back to normal.

Every team is desperate for a win every game from here on out.

Due to years of mediocrity, I would consider Texas A&M a desperate team until we start playing in the playoffs. Every game we play should be a desperate game.

I don't know if Florida is more or less desperate than other teams we will play. But they sure look dangerous. Their defense is pretty stout, and our OL will need to really bring it. And while Lagway is probably good for an interception or two if we can get pressure on him, he's probably good for a touchdown or two to that dominating WR they've got. So our DB will need to play their best.

Expect a really close game.

Our team is confident, positive, and walking with swagger. Some have never even experienced a loss in college football. I don't think there is room for "desperation" in Elko's new culture. Fingers crossed lol

I see a trend of desperate posters trying to be relevant.

I'm desperate to see people deal with our team based on what they are seeing rather than imagining myself. The team is earning its support and building a path to November. That's where the question marks have begun for the past two coaches as well as Elko last year. Huge opportunity to "play through" the season.

Read the room. Desperate teams usually aren't all that good. If you are constantly playing "desperate teams" it means you're better than they are and the media just doesn't want to say that.

This team seems different. They expect to win. They play together. They don't get down. This could be a special season.

Come on, folks. I predict we will not win them all, but we have an excellent chance to make the playoffs. Every game will be important/critical. Every week special. Enjoy the ride.

Nice analysis, and totally SEC ready. Lots of good teams will have losses this year and be playing for their season at different times.

Your assumption that a desperate team is, by definition, a bad team is about the most dense thing I've read on here in a while. And to be so smug while being so wrong… impressive feat.
