Why the thumbs up? 2:30 games take up your entire day. 11:00 road games and 6:30 home games.

It's okay if it takes up my entire day, if I planned on watching college football the entire day.

Probably because it gets more eyeballs, is too early for their fans to drink all day, and gives our team a chance to wake up as no on wants to play at 11am.

That and it's the same amount of time regardless.

It's college football Saturday, that's pretty much my whole day with the exception of my son's morning pee wee football game. As long as it's not a night game for an away game, we good.

the Ags have a modest 2-game winning streak in Fayetteville

albeit over a 35-year stretch

What a freakin' line-up of games for that weekend. All really interesting match-ups. I love being in the SEC.

This is our true trap game. Glad it is not at 11:00 am or at Night.

Who would have thought tu vs Kentucky would be a good game? Preseason #1 versus #16 in the SEC

Expecting the usual inexplicable one possession dog fight.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

Do you complain 24/7 in real life or is it just your TexAgs thingy?

11 a.m. wasn't an option. Would you prefer 2:30 or 6:30 on the road?

ND beat them so bad they fired Pittman, but yeah, we'll probably play them super close for no damn reason.

Try again. Just read my posts. VERY far from a "complainer". Weak take.

Much better than a night game in Fayetteville. I don't mind the 2:30 slot

This is the takeaway. Avoiding road night games in Fayetteville and Baton Rouge would be ideal.

For the LSU weekend, the flex games are:
A&M @ LSU
Texas @ MSU
Mizzou @ Vandy
Alabama @ SC

The likely two most important games are A&M/LSU and Mizzou/Vandy (whodathunkit)
LSU has had a night SEC game already but tends to get as many as they want.
Vandy has not, including this week vs LSU.

There are two night slots, my bet is we end up in one of them.

Would be huge if we could get 2:30 in Baton Rouge but I doubt we get that lucky

was very pleased to see this game scheduled at 230. night games on the road in the sec are trouble no matter who you are playing.

Home night-night game adds a couple points to the spread, supposedly.

I am glad the kickoff time for the road game at Arkansas is not at night. I think our first SEC road game at Arkansas is a trap game because we will likely be double digit road favorites with the road game at LSU looming a week later.

6:30 home games take up half of both weekend dayd. I'd rather be home one of the two days which 11 AM and 2:30 games enable.

If tu doesn't win that game I think there is a VERY strong chance they finish the season 4-8 or even lose out.

I'm realistically thinking they finish 5-7 (win over Kentucky & Arkansas)

I like evening home games the most because I can sleep in and still get some errands done before leaving Austin in the early afternoon. I hate 11 AM games because that means I have to leave Austin at around 7 AM to get to College Station by 9 AM. I am fine with 2:30 games because I can leave Austin at 9:30 and arrive at 11:30 AM.

I understand that 11 AM and 2:30 PM games enable day trips, but I still prefer night games.

Is there some good reason A& M shouldn't take over the stadium like we did at ND? Seems like an opportunity to do so especially after we win vs Florida and they lose vs Tennessee

Well, I would imagine that A&M sold 3000-4000 tickets before the season, and that satisfied most of the preseason demand from Aggie fans (unlike ND where the majority of our fans purchased on the resale market). And, while Arkansas football enthusiasm is down, it's Parent's Weekend, so there are not many hotel rooms to be had even if a bunch of our fans made the late decision to go.

I don't doubt the hotel room occupancy is near capacity in the immediate Fayettenam area but with a 230 pm kickoff you can stay several hours away and still not be overstressed. I looked at the tickets on Stubhub .. relative to Kyle Field they are cheap cheap. Branson and Tulsa both under 2 hr drive. Fort Smith 1 hr drive.

just beware of the post-game traffic on highway 180 (going east) trying to get to I-49

it was awful back in 2013
