He acts as the QB coach and OC. No progression from our QB and offense is struggling.

Have you seen our offense to be smart enough to come to this conclusion?

I wonder if Klein keeps calling the deep ball because he's trying to force Marcel to get comfortable with it.

Hot take, Klein has schemed up a high powered offense this season, and it's been terribly undercut by poor qb play. If we're judging him on calls inside the five, fire him, but that's not the totality of the job.

Did you stop for a second and consider that maybe the TE was running a route because it was an RPO and Reed made a terrible read? Because that's a more likely scenario than a predetermined A gap run also having two routes into the flat.Sky7 said:npc said:

It's not just play calls inside the five although running 4 consecutive up the A gap when each previous attempt netted zero gain is suspect. What's worse on that 4 play call on the goal line, our TE was wide open in the end zone. Not even covered. But the call was the send it up the A gap (again).
Other suspect calls, on two different occasions of a critical 3rd and 9 when all we needed was nine yards, Kline calls for the long ball even though Reeds accuracy on long balls during this game and the previous four games we have played have been very inaccurate. And of course on those two 3rd and 9 plays on the long ball they were both overthrown.
This is not play calling that is going to win us critical SEC games.

Yep 87 was wide open and had the look of where is the football. That 4th down play was a total RPO that Reed misread. He is misreading a bunch of them this year. That needs to be a question to Elko on the why Marcel is having such a hard time in the RPO game. Also Reed constantly looks deep and stays deep. Lots of easy throws underneath that are open. Manning is doing the same at Texas
