none of this shoud come as a huge surprise. we have consistently recruited in th top 10-15 for many years while compiling two top 5 finishes in the last 65 years. if we actually start winning it will be an avalanche.

This is a great point to make. You are a true Aggie. Clearly you attended Texas A&M and believe in the school and all the traditions.

Not sure if you were complementing me or taunting me sarcastically but I will take it in a positive sense.
Clearly we have under-achieved as a football school considering the resources, reputation, fanbase, interest levels etc. No MNC since 1939 is bad and we haven't come close either in the last few decades. So if I am a top recruit and looking for a school, I would likely want to go to Alabama (in Saban's time) than A&M. This is even more true for a QB since other than Johnny Manziel, we have no examples (Tanny wasn't really a QB here though he is our best example of an Aggie QB in the NFL). I am happily amazed that we have been a great recruiting school.
Now to just go one step more and show those results on the field as well.
I am optimistic that Elko can get us there. Pending a possible Oct/Nov, he's done pretty well until now. But we need to win some some sheet that matters.

Flip it around.
I am amazed how we are a top team in recruiting year after year but end up with mediocre results and continue to recruit at a high level. Top Recruits should actually be running away from us.

Most recruits go to a school for $$ unfortunately. Times have changed

Yes, it would be so great if we could find a way to not Aggie it up.
Get great recruits and actually coach them to be even better.
Put BAS to sleep.
Keep from collapsing when people start looking at us.
Not believe the press.
Not listen to social media.
Grow a championship culture.
Not listen to Taxags knee-jerk doomsayers who start predicting a loss after one bad series or one bad quarter.
Kick internet trolls in the crotch.
Not buy in to Swagcopters, WRTS nonsense, and runaway false bravado.
You know.
The regular stuff.
Go Ags!

We get it. BAS is strong with you but why would you post this? Even if you believe this, which you shouldn't, keep it to yourself. Every former player that plays in the NFL, almost across the board, says Texas A&M was the best decision of their lives. Regardless of what you believe, Texas A&M is more than just the football team.
I get that frustrations run high and our sports teams should perform at high levels but why in the world would you post something that recruits could read and perceive your self depreciating attitude as reality? We haven't won a national championship since 1939, so let's just quit. We will never be good. You must be a blast at parties!
Just an FYI, I am not sarcastically taunting you, I am calling you out for being a 2%'r and posting ridiculous comments on a Texas A&M web site. Check your self pity at the door and never quit. If you disagree, feel free to buy season tickets to watch a team that meets your historical standards.

This board is for discussion. And discussion done respectfully. That is what I did. And on topic.
Why are you trying to muzzle discussion here?
"Recruits will read" is the most bs reason. If they really based their decision on the Zoo posts, no one would come here.
I am an Ag and will always be so I have my bias towards A&M always. But a top recruit is just looking for his progression to the NFL. We have not done a good job on that part, so I wonder why someone without any biases would pick A&M over Alabama or OSU since the chances of getting into the NFL are higher.
Nothing wrong in knowing this. Maybe there's something they want to be part of.
