Seeing Mario Craver wearing Carl Roaches' number 1 in a 1975 throwback will definitely be memory lane. Parallels are uncanny. Roaches was about Mario's size and just as explosive although opportunities in the wishbone were few. When Roaches had the ball everyone including defenses held their breath just like Mario.

Crowd favorite. That 1975 team had crowd favorites on both sides of the ball. One of my favorite teams. Yes, I lived through Ark and USC. Defense was loaded with talent. Offense had their share too. NFL ended up with a bunch of them.

Prior to message boards and modern sports marketing, I kind of doubt fans in the 70s would have noticed or cared as much about the little details on a jersey.

I love those old time announcers that sounded like they were talking into a tin can. They could make a 2 yard run sound exciting.

I had one in jr high in 1975!

You're barking up the wrong tree. MaroonU just peddles overpriced replicas at easily a 200% markup, probably more like 300%.

But the alternate uniforms like the Aggie script black combo A&M wore at ND are absolutely insanely awesome.



A&M can definitely throw some alternate looks into the rotation. The cringiest argument against alternate uniforms is that powerhouses like Bama, UT, sips, Michigan, etc don't wear alternate unis, but then again A&M is not on par with the success of those programs.

The one true abomination uniform was the Aggie Bling Chrome A&M wore against MSU in 2014. Those were so, so bad, and the game was a reflection of those uniforms.
