Man I had some PTSD when I saw that throw thinking of Mond (I think?) throwing a total brick at the one TE we had who was huge and hyped like he was going to be amazing but couldn't ever learn to catch. That was also 4th and goal with the game on the line against someone who I had really wanted us to beat. Felt good to exorcise that demon.

Yes not only TE's but players like #23 morrow, and # 22 E J Smith need to see the field more frequently in certain situations. They should be more than just a rotation substitute. We have talent on the bench that Needs to be exploited. Kline is missing some golden opportunities here, to literally swamp the opponent offensively.

Umm I'm sure EJ is a good kid, but if Moss and Daniels are healthy I don't know why he should see the field much. Maybe he's a great blocker? I don't know.

Let's see, Aggies have played 3 games. I have seen Theo catch a TD from inside the 5. I have seen Nate score a TD from the 11. I have seen Niblack be targets around the goal line and drop a TD pass. Seems like we are using our tight ends in the red zone.

Hey you take your narrative busting observations and go somewhere else.
Give me the guy who shoots for excellence and fails over the guy who shoots for mediocrity and succeeds.

What the **** are you talking about? You realize we can only play 11 at a time, right? We can't "swamp the opponent offensively" any more with backups than we can with starters. I'm sure E.J. Smith is a great kid, but he has no business getting the football over Moss, Owens, or Daniels. In order for the best players to play, there have to be some other players who don't see the field as much. E.J. is one of those players. It's just part of having a 105 man roster. Morrow hasn't shown enough to warrant him getting any more touches either. We have way too many elite skill players starting in our offense to worry about giving extra reps to 4th and 5th string players.

I'm just happy we're scoring touchdowns at a good clip and we have left points on the table in every game to date. Keep scoring 40+ points a game and we'll win a bunch of games . Clean up the penalties and the offense is going to be just fine.

Defense still needs to improve quite a bit but the DL has been better than I expected . Gotta clean up the missed assignments , lack of recognition issues and maybe we could have a borderline top third defense to go along with the really nice offense .

We know the offense can put up points.

The defense will determine how far we go this season

I aint gonna lie, when the ball left Reed's hand I was thinking here we go an incomplete pass and Ags lose another close one.

So happy to see the guys execute and win.

That would make the offense predictable.

Makes me think of Cameron Clear but that was before Mond.

I think he is talking about Baylor Cupp that white kid from a 2A school with the hot mom. His biggest issue was he got hurt every time he stepped on the field. He eventually transferred to tceh.

If I remember correctly, didn't the TE catch a pass that was play action at the goal line against UTSA? I believe it might have been fourth and goal also.

I don't understand the criticism of Klein. If you watch any of the film room with Steven McGee or the guy with glasses on YouTube, they love the play calling. I am guessing McGee has a little more experience than most on this board.

I guess Klein can't make everyone happy.....

God - some of you need therapy.

Take the win and be happy. We went into South Bend an underdog and won. If that doesn't make you happy - then maybe level up to hookers and blow.

Look, we just hung 41 on a top ten team featuring supposedly "the best db's in college football" on the road at night. And that doesn't count a missed (although long) field goal and a couple missed wide open receivers for touchdowns. Let's find something else to complain about besides the offense.

Elko called EJ Smith's blocking on a KC Concepcion touchdown "one of the greatest effort plays he has seen in his coaching career".

And Smith got the call to score a td in that game. Playing on special teams is still playing time and keeps a 1st string off the field with reduced exposure to injury.
