CBS Sports named Derek Miller the #1 GM in football.

Misread the tweet. So he's a top not the top

Should have included a trigger warning. This is going to get a lot of poster's panties in a bunch.

"A top" GM doesn't mean THE top GM

I think it's weird to hand out this accolade before the season even starts.

In my mind it's the equivalent of crowning the "best builder" award to the kid who made the best-looking pinewood derby car before any races, then ultimately the car falls apart a quarter of the way through its first race.

The roster that the GM "built" has done absolutely nothing and could very well be a dumpster fire that does not gel together at all for all we know.

I look forward to 10 or more NFL draft picks this year. Does it count if all in 7th round??!

if we have 10- 7th round draft picks we will hav a heck of a year. it would be nice to sprinkle in a few higher round draft picks but don't kid yourself that 10 7th rounders wouldn't lead to a really good to great season. we have been goijg 8-4 with 3-5 guys getting drafted each year.

The difference in quality between the 5th round and the 7th round/UDFAs that get signed is minimal, and has more to do with a team's needs than the talent of the draft pick or UDFA.

I'd gladly take 10 7th rounders.

For a comparison to recruiting, in 7 rounds of the draft you are talking about less than 225 players. This place lights up when we sign a top 300 recruit. Having 10 of these recruits develop and make it into the draft would be a very good hit rate compared to our recent experiences.

It looks to be word of mouth from a "wide range of informed sources."

More Texas A&M Football's Twitter Account's fault than you. They said "Best of the best." I can see why you thought he was named #1. Pathetic on their part.

It should have said "One of the Top 22 Best." There is nothing wrong with being in the Top 22 (and they didn't rank them).

Talent has never really been a problem.

We've averaged top 15 talent for the last 30 years, and that's turned into top 40ish results over that period.

For sure you can't win without talent, so I'm glad we have it, but there's another piece that's always been missing
