You arent required to watch Finebaum. Or anyone else you disagree with for that matter.

ESPN is just like any other media, they push what will get the most views. The next great Manning quarterback bringing Texas back to glory is what will get them the most views. It is what it is.

I have never seen a player with so little playing time be so celebrated. Nobody really knows how good he will be as a starter. Arch himself even said the honors are undeserved. He has not played enough or had the teams success or failure on his shoulders. Manning should be a watch the season play out before judging him ether way guy. The Manning name drives most of the hype. And Finebaum is a ratings driven shock jock not a football evaluator.

They need to hype him up as much as possible so it gets in the ref's heads that they best not mess with the messiah and call plays "accordingly". Amen.

Well since Tim Tebow there has been at least 4 QBs better than him: Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow.

if i am being completely honest arch manning, in the limited time i saw of him last season, appeared better than i expected. he had the name coming out of high school but his tape was not that dominating in my eyes.

that said he has a long long way to go to be anywhere close to as good as either his grandfather or his two uncles so OL paulll might want to slow his role.

LHN was folded quite awhile back in order to get sip into the SEC. Why ESiPN feels the need to continue to jock ride everything sip mystifies me. As the above poster said, yes he's already shown me more than I ever thought he would. He looked like an absolute chump coming out of HS. But seriously, tap the brakes on him being the second coming of Jesus Christ. How about maybe let him accomplish something before anointing? Geez, you'd think he's John Mateer or something…..

Maybe not but he's very near the top. He won two national titles and won a Heisman. Not many other QBs have done that.

It is a friggin Manning... If he were playing for the good guys next year you would be on the train and so would ESPN. This one has more to do with the player and any bias ESPN has will be naturally hooked to the Manning machine.

The expectations of greatness will be adding a lot of pressure. He may be a good qb, but it will be difficult to live up the expectations that they have set. Most of the limited action that he saw last year was pretty impressive; however, I keep going back to that Georgia game and the possible concussion in the last game and wonder how durable he can be.

Your first mistake was listening to anything the "Richard" with ears has to say. Him and Stephen A are on the same level of moronic hot takes.

Starting with (I guess) a depleted Ohio State, Arch will have a target on him...probably some solid hits and possibly some late - well, who am I kidding, they're all gonna be late hits if the refs are paid enough.. So, durability will be something to watch in the fall - of course they don't call holding anymore...unless it's our O-line.

…that funds our school to the tune of almost $50 million a year and also made the investment in the studio and cameras and audio equipment for our student-staffed 12th Man TV broadcasts that so many of us enjoy mostly at no additional cost other than cable/media licensing.

it's very odd in this day and age for a great QB to ride the pine for 2 years
