I've got a wedding in Boston on the weekend of September 26th (Auburn weekend). Wedding's on Friday night. There is a big group of us that wants to barhop, watch CFB, and get a feel for Boston. Doesn't have to be an Aggie bar, we plan on watching all the games, just looking for a lively area.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

There's a huge sports bar at the TD Garden that has massive screens. Don't know how hopping it is when the basketball and hockey seasons aren't going but I assume it's fine year round.

Looks like the Sox are in town that weekend and play in the afternoon that Saturday. Depending on the auburn game time I would say Fenway area/Lansdowne St but you'll get smothered in Sox fandom. Which would be fun (and if you haven't been to Fenway it's a must) but will take away from a cfb atmosphere.

CFB attention is different up there so I'd be surprised if you find a place with wall to wall cfb coverage. I'd plan on having a hell of a day and night at the Sox game/Fenway area and just hope you find somewhere showing the game.

Used to live in Boston. It is a great city. But they don't give 2 sh**'s about college football. You can find bars with lots of screens but it's more likely to have a random NBA game on than a big SEC game. Doesn't mean they won't change the channel for you.

Get your food over in North End.

Then for game watching Tavern in the square is a great place to watch downtown right across from the Garden. 50 beers on tap and tons of screens. Seaport also has a few good spots but a little more touristy.

I second eating in the North end.

Unbelievably good Italian food.

I spent an Aggie Muster with the New England A&M club. I recommend reaching out to them and seeing where the A&M watch party is. Worst case, they probably know good sports bars in Boston for watching college football. I will tell you that it isn't as prevalent up there. You are more likely to hear college hockey on sports talk radio up there than you are college football.

Boston is way too cool to waste it watching football in a bar. Go check out the Freedom Trail, tour Fenway, rent a canoe and paddle up to Concord, take the ferry to Cape Cod, get hole in the wall chowda and lobster rolls in the Watefront, get a beer at Cheers, feed the ducks at the Boston Common. Do anything but sit in a sports bar watching tv

The A&M watch party is at JJ Foleys which is actually a pretty good time it is a irish dive bar. Usually lively but it's not ideal for bar hopping as it is more of a 10 minute drive from other areas. Worth going to however depending on game time.

As mentioned north station is more of the sports district area and has a number of bars that you can bar hop at. "The Greatest Bar" is actually my favorite it is stadium style but iirc it is actually the UT bar (which doesn't actually matter for anything up there). If you want to leave that area walk to north end there is a bar strip that will be rowdy. Bell in Hand / Green Dragon Tavern area.

Avoid north end unless you have a rezzy at the steakhouse it is a tourist trap you won't be able to get in anywhere decent on a saturday night.

Seaport is also rage but that is a bit outside the window. I lived there during a football season so feel free to ask .
