What incoming freshman do you think could make an immediate impact on this team this year? Jerome Myles or Marco Jones? Any others?

On the texags show this morning they were saying the coaches are raving about Myles. Really impressed with what an amazing athlete he is. I liked how Jones looked in the spring. If nothing else you can turn him loose on 3rd down, rushing the passer. So I would say probably Jones early n the year showing flashes and Myles dong more as the season goes on. Both are guys to be really excited about.

Agreed. I think incoming freshmen on the offensive side can have the most impact early on. I would think someone on the DLine would need to add muscle and size first unless your name is Myles Garrett.

Here are my Top 5 to play in important games in 2025 for the 2nd string roster:

1. DJ Sanders - DT - 6'4" 300lbs
2. Chance Sims - DT - 6"3" 305lbs
3. Landon Rink - DT 6'3" 285lbs
4. Noah Mikhail - LB - 6'3" 225lbs
5. Kiotti Armstrong - TE - 6'6" 265lbs

These next 5 will probably play in some 2025 games:

1. Lamont Rogers - OL - 6'7" 315lbs - We normally RS our OL - but could be the next man up.
2. Adonyss Currie - CB - 6'3" 180lbs
3. Jerome Myles - WR - 6'3" 220lbs
4. Marco Jones - LB - 6'5" 230lbs
5. Rashad Johnson - S - 6'2" 205lbs

* Special Teams - Usually will see some True Freshman and Redshirt Freshmen start/play.

++ My Preseason Vote for Freshman of the Year:

* Would be one of the Defensive Tackles or one of the Linebackers...

Im watching Kiotti, a little more than the others. My expectations are high with him

After seeing what other 5* freshman wide receivers have done in recent years, I have high hopes for Jerome Myles. I'm not expecting him to be the next Ryan Williams or Jeremiah Smith, but a man can always dream right?

I would love to see Kiotti Armstrong become a weapon. He's a physical specimen and could turn into a stud. I suggest Marco Jones will have an impact.

Here are my thoughts on how the true Freshman TE could impact the 2025 season:

1. Theo Melin Ohrstom -- 6'6" - 260lbs -- Junior RS
Will be our starting TE and be our top blocking & pass catching TE in 2025.

2. Amari Niblack -- 6'4" - 240ibs -- Senior
2. Kiotti Armstrong -- 6'6" - 265lbs -- Freshman
* Both will be our 2nd team - top 2 pass catching TE's in 2025.

3. Nate Boerkircher -- 6'5" - 250LBS -- Senior Graduate
3. Micah Riley -- 6'5" - 260lbs -- Junior RS
* Both could be our Top 2 Blockers in Heavy Set - 2 TE's short yardage formations

I'm pretty sure Jerome Myles is both the biggest and fastest WR on our roster right now (correct me of I'm wrong on that).

Every second we aren't either preparing him or playing him is an absolute waste

I'm sure they are all unblockable, really turning heads, criminally underrated...

realistically i hope very few if any are huge contributors. we have an older experienced team. the one position eveyone kind of states we might need a little help would be wr but i think some of that is based on last years group more than this years.

i also think elko and staff really like experience so they will lean more in the direction more times than not as well which can limit freshman snaps.

i could see one of the freshman defensive tackles getting some play in the rotation and potentially myles at wide receiver.

next season will be a different story

Realistically, I am hoping that older and experienced team can stay reasonably healthy, but I can see several freshmen receiving some playing time out of necessity as the season progresses.

Is Jerome Myles enrolled? 247 shows he is just Signed. Isn't he also coming off injury?

Jerome Miles ran a 10.6 in the 100 meters on May 7, 2025
in the Utah state Region 2 track championship meet for his senior year.

Therefore, I would say that he is not injured now in 2025 with this performance.

That is a little off of his 10.3 performance his Junior year in 2024 to break the Utah state record.
