If I may speak on behalf of the HR department of Chic-fil-A…….we salute you and look forward to your continued research and development of poultry sciences. There are hundreds of D1 schools we admire when thinking of collegiate athletics. There's only 1 school that captivates our spirit when it comes to the advancement of chickens (and all sports involving animals for that matter).

We've always had awesome a solid chicken ****er program!

My high school and fish buddy was a poultry science major, so I use the term with only the utmost respect!

How do you win a NC in judging chickens?

If the chicken judges are judging the chickens, then who is judging the judges and what are they looking for?

It just goes to show that if you don't chicken out you can win the national championship.

For those who may have forgotten, the A in A&M stands for Agricultural.

The Agricultural college and majors have always been one of if not the best in almost everything they do.

We are perennial national champions in many contests. "It's just Ag" - so it doesn't matter to most around here.

We have always been at the cutting edge of research in Agriculture and have had major historical influences with the discoveries and application of methods and ideas that started right here. Some have helped increase food production to eliminate hunger around the world. Some have helped make the steak you eat tastier and more tender. Some have made your vehicle run more efficiently and cleaner. Many have given the American farmer a technological edge to be able to produce more with less inputs and still meet an ever-growing list of environmental and fiscal regulations that would prohibit most farmers in other countries from being a farmer.

I am proudly an Ag major and when they were available, had a "Texas Aggies Leaders in Agriculture" bumper sticker on my truck.

This is ONE part of this school where we have proven again and again that we are the best. I think it only appropriate the we all congratulate these students - even if it is on the football board. I believe most here have never won a State or National contest. If you haven't - you have no idea what it takes to reach that kind of success - you don't know the hours and life commitment it takes to reach this level. As a "coach" of a State Champion team from a small school that beat many large schools to win, I recognize what it takes to perform at these upper levels.

Congrats to these NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. Maybe our football team could learn something from them.
I’ve seen them play since way back when,
And they’ve always had the grit;
I’ve seen ‘em lose and I’ve seen ‘em win,
But I’ve never seen ‘em quit.

I'm not an Aggie and even I know that's no longer true and hasn't been for over 60 years.

In 1963, the Texas Legislature changed the school's name from the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas to Texas A&M University. The "A" and "M" became a symbolic link to the school's past but no longer officially stood for "Agricultural and Mechanical."

History | Texas A&M University

"A&M" literally stands for nothing.

Guess since you're not an Aggie, the symbolic link is lost to a meager mind.

Well, if you chose to go to A&M for our sports prowess, I don't know what to tell you. We've never been great at sports other than some brief flashes, the late 80s-early 90s and then before Pearl Harbor was attacked. Even when we had Manziel, the best we could do was finish 3rd in our division.

I'm proud of these kids that are true Aggies and actually care about A&M and work hard to represent it. Nothing to be embarrassed about at all.

It's so sad that kids with a passion for what they do are able to do it at an elite level with great faculty around them.

100%

I am curious though, how does one "judge" poultry or meat and win at it?

I have no experience in ag or animal husbandry and honestly have zero clue how this competition works.
