I don't have cable TV, but I do have Roadrunner and was thinking of signing up for AUA in order to see the Aggie games this fall at my house(a lot of games are scheduled for cable and not major network broadcast). For those of you that have watched games on AUA: what's it like? Is the quality good? Is it Dave & Dave or the broadcast commentators?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Well, if you like watching a 3in by 3in screen, it's ok. Personally, I think sitting back and listening to a radio stream would be just as good. I tried to enlarge the video, but you can't. It is very small, and not at all like watching it on tv. I watched the M&W game on it, and missed a good part of the third quarter due to some technical glitch. You will occasionally lose the stream and get jumps in the video or warble in the audio.

In short, better than nothing, but not great.

I dont know about football, but it was awesome for baseball this year, for me at least. I know a lot of other people complained about freeze-ups, but i rarely had any problems and would watch it full screen, and it was better than i expected. (The most infuriating episode i had was when i went out in like the 5th inning of our last game against rice. I had to listen to the call of the Rugg dinger on the radio. Of course, it turned out that was a problem with my connection.)

I didn't realize that football games would be available on AUA.

For baseball games, it's not bad at all. The quality (at least for home games) usually solely depends on the quality of your internet hookup. Mine at the house is not as reliable or fast as the one at the office, and I noticed the difference when trying to watch games on AUA.

This is how I watched Aggie baseball live on AUA last year:

If you double-click on the video image it will go to full-screen.

I wasn't aware that they'd have the football games live though. Usually it's a few days later that the games are available.

I'm an AUA member and they haven't announced that they will be airing any games live on AUA. They haven't in the past and I imagine the TV contract won't allow the University to air any games that are on TV...but that's just a guess.

Double click the video screen. It will enlarge to full screen mode and use your entire monitor.

It also sounds like you've got a bad internet connection. You need a broadband (not dial-up) connection for it to work well, if at all.

I have not heard anything about the games being available on AUA yet though.

Franchione has never had a prolific defense.

Franchione had the #1 defense in the nation in 2000 at TCU and the #3 defense in the nation in 2002 at Alabama.

There's no way AUA will be showing the football games live this season guys. (ok, maybe a .00001 chance) TV contracts wouldn't allow something like that - I wouldn't think.

In the past they've had the game up by the next night if I remember correctly.

If your video card has a "TV out" (digital or S video) just run it to your TV and watch it that way.
