If you are like me, then yesterday might have been the quietest National Signing Day in your lifetime. The days of TexAgs being inundated from very early in the morning with info, posts, shouts, tirades, last minute surprises, etc. until the recap articles that evening were such an adrenaline rush.

However, because of the December Early Signing Period, most of the activity for TexAgs, Aggies and other fans was over almost two months ago.

Still, I would like to post some thoughts as I do believe this was really an overall very good-to-excellent 2025 Recruiting Year for Coach Elko & Co.

If you look at the 25 players that signed with the Aggie football program, there is a remarkable amount of talent. Not to mention, you can see that the staff pinpoints leaders and intelligence in the players from every position. (To wit, 24 of the 25 players are "Early Entry" giving them an early leg up in their college careers). This should end up building a nice base for the future and should provide opportunity for more consistency and dedication to staying in College Station for many of those players' careers.

The biggest disappointment was losing five-star QB Husan Longstreet to USC on Nov 17th. However, I would say that the signing of previous junior and Michigan commit QB Brady Hart within two weeks of that shock was an incredible save by Elko & Co. It will remain to be seen how both Longstreet and Hart perform in the coming years but it did allow the Aggies to get a quality QB in this 2025 Class that can be relatively patient on the bench for 2 years due to his young age.

The biggest, pleasant surprises were receiving the commitment of basically two 5-star players in the last 24 hours of the Early Recruiting Period: OT Lamont Rogers and WR Jerome Myles. That was an incredible haul gaining the two most highly ranked players of your class within that late time period.

Another particular note: this Texas A&M staff also appears to be very good at spotting talent early on. Four players in particular had remarkable growth in their Senior Seasons: DL Chace Sims was ranked #793 in class / #89 at his position as late as Fall 2024 but ended up #58 / #8. Safety Rashad Johnson was #399 / #35 ending up #83 / #5. At CB, Jamar Beal Goines (#239 / #26 to #113 / 15). IOL Nelson McGuire moved up incredibly from #533 / 35 to #142 / 8.

Lastly, I will point out a few players not as highly ranked but whom I forecast will have a great impact on Aggie football in the coming two years: LB Noah Mikhail and DL Landon Rink. I think they could be in the mix sooner than later.

So, the least exciting Feb Recruiting Period in my life but still plenty to get excited about for this football program's future. Looking forward to seeing these players' impact in the coming years.

I finally learned my lesson.

It's a different game now. The portal and NIL will take care of any gaps before the season starts. But that's a heaping helping of 4-stars. We good.

Jerome Myles is a 5* no matter what bozo pundit says otherwise.

That said, need to move NIL signing day and HS signing day till after playoffs over and that's it.
