5 Detroit turn overs. I don't think Glenn, Dan or the OC are responsible for them. If Dan wanted to coach his Aggies that would be fun. He is making generation wealth that few Aggies ever have. Congrats to him and it sucks today was the day their O had 5 to's.

Dan Quinn is doing an outstanding job at Washington with a rookie QB. Hiring Kingsbury as his OC/QB coach was a very smart hire.

Dan Campbell will be our next coach, but he has to choke again in next year's playoff, finish 6-11 in the two seasons after that, and get fired before this happens.

As soon as they lost yet another defensive player on the second play of the game, I knew they were in trouble.

To come on here and start a thread shows just how little the OP knows about football.

You want to talk about culture? Brad Holmes and Dan have built it. I mean 3 years ago, they were still bottom feeders, so that's a quick turnaround. Look at the Ravens and the Bills - always in it, but haven't gone to an SB in 10+ / 30+ years.

TLDR; Hell yes, I'd take him as a coach.

Yes I want Campbell - I want NFL level talent over ACC coaching.

HS/College players prob can't handle Dan C and his expectations in today's NIL/over-exposed environment. His grit expectations and searching for true competitive spirit would be difficult to achieve (his #1 priority...either you have it or don't).

Difficult to id early that's not lip service for a kid out of HS or a couple years of college (vs. NFL having a litany of scouts/staff/tests/interviews/examinations, etc.). Intense competition for said talent in college (bluebloods have historical advantage) nor the war chest of a NFL team (coupled with NFL 'salary cap' rules and drafting order to help keep NFL relatively competitive if competent mgmt./coaching).

He'd be great from a fan's perspective, but unknown how young kids would react in this entitlement seen today. Yes, there would be some (i.e., think Rink is one of those guys, but could he find 85 to properly load a roster.

Irony is that Saban is similar, but more of a control freak of a player/org. and why he failed in the NFL vs. 'professionals' who don't bow.

Great season but to win the first round against any team would've been difficult. Washington was the worst possible matchup for them.

Goff had a rough day but give credit to Washington's defense.

Despite their mistakes, Detroit stayed in the game until Washington's 4th-and-2 play, where the cornerback lost containment on Daniels. Make that play and the game might be closer.

2 things that are 100% indisputable.


1. Dan Campbell is an amazing coach and has built an incredible culture and team
2. TexAgs would want to run him off as soon as he had the NCAA equivalent of the 3-13-1 record he had his first year as a HC

The fact is, this board loves to try to carve out reasons why the way they judge our present coach doesn't apply to other coaches who have had similar years and went on to be elite. So while we now know he's doing an incredible job, nobody here would sit through those first few years and say "he's building a culture". They'd say he sucks and that no good coach would ever be that terrible.

And I know the NFL is much more difficult than college - but 8-4 is also way better than 3-13-1 so it all scales.

So what is your goal for an A&M coach?

I want a coach that gets wins at A&M. I'd rather have a coach that wins 10 per year and never puts a single player in the NFL than one that develops multiple HOF players and never wins 10 games.

Given that, it is a really weird approach to try to give him credit for what his QB did after college while completely ignoring how poorly he did with that generational talent on his team.

But he's one of 11.
One of 22 on the field.
One of 53 on the team.

You gotta have a lot of help around "the QB", and they've gotta do their jobs too.

This the first Lion's game you tuned into this season? Goff played his worst game of the year, but going into this game he was 5th in odds to win league MVP in most books. Could argue he outplayed some guys above him, but was just less flashy.

It's not a matter of choking
Most franchises hit a wall with cap flexibility and then they are bad for several years or longer. That's when head coaches are fired Dan will get offers and find a new job quickly
