I always thought you got one free transfer to play immediately OR you got another freebie if the coach left. But yet, I keep reading these players are getting 2/3 free transfers without sitting out. I do know if you're a grad, you can play immediately

NCAA did away with having to sit a year last year if the student is still academically eligible and be in good standing with the school and team.

This was after a court issued an injunction saying the NCAA couldn't enforce the rule.

Did it ever make it to court? I thought they back down before it went on front of a judge.

Guess in the end it doesn't matter the lawsuit is what got the rule changed.
