Many are doubting Bill ever step on the field at NC as the Bears, Jets and several other NFL teams need a coach.
His buyout is 1 million if he leaves this spring.

I think Bellichick has plenty of money, and his real motivation is the game of football. I think he's looking at it as a very unique challenge which he thinks he can excel at, just like he did for the pros. My guess, he's going to be one helluva college football coach ! Too bad we can't think outside the box when hiring coaches..........

The ONLY valid ANNUAL goal for ALL Aggie Sports is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!

I think this is really just to set his son up with a head coaching gig.

Something tells me he wouldnt go through the trouble of accepting the job and then leaving a few months later for $1mm.

Some spec UNC will go all out for a QB...lots of guesstimating speculation fodder and trolling that they really want Arch behind the scenes (realistically there's no way they can outbid and outpay tu if the scenario was even possible).

Bill B knows college QB makes or breaks a team potential. He got their current QB to stay, but we shall see if they do anything.

I think this is going to look no different than Mack Brown. I just don't think there is anything about him that will work at the college level. I think his "pull" will probably be less than some people (most of them 40+) think it will be. I think he's going to find that 18 year old kids in the era of NIL can't be pushed/treated like NFL players during his dynasty at NE. I think he's probably going to be frustrated by how much he has to dumb things down to teach kids who have limited time/practice to pick it up.

Wait till he has to start dealing with NIL.....i don't think he will stick around CFB long. Plus he is close to NFL all time win mark i believe, that may be hard to walk away from long term if he wants to continue to coach

It goes into effect either 6/1 or 7/1. Can't before that

I think he is very likely the most overrated coach of all time.

Bill ain't ready for college ball. At least in the NFL, he has some leverage with the players' individual contracts. College is the Wild West. With the portal and NIL the way they're structured now, coaches have no leverage at all.

LOL! He quit because of the state of college sports- portal, nil, soon to be paying players, lack of loyalty, kids only focused on money, etc. he isn't coming back.
I'm afraid BB doesn't have a clue what he's in for, we'll see.

Apparently UNC and BB stepping up to the plate and using the portal to get some players (and a few top ones like OT from Bama).

Before they let Mack go, he was quoted that UNC was going to go all in on portal this yr (pay a lot) vs HS recruiting as he expected this would be the last yr of outlandish spending (that some regulation or compensation caps coming by next yr).

If he is correct, then A&M isn't attacking the portal properly this year (essentially betting the other way). LSU, Ole Miss, ttu, UNC are throwing a lot of money out there to reshape parts of rosters (where's Sabans mouth now).

North Carolina would get the million. He'd get whatever more the NFL gig would be paying him on top of the college $.

That being said it's not clear why he'd be more desirable now than when he failed to land a NFL head coaching job before, other than it's different NFL teams with openings.
