Now, if it wasn't Bama, I don't think it would be a discussion, but SMU's biggest feather in their cap is NOT losing to the 11 unranked teams they played.

I think it's more 4 SEC teams and 4 Big 10 teams. These two conferences control everything. Similar to last year.

If they are going to say Bama over SMU because of schedule, then ND and maybe Penn State should probably be ahead of Texas.

Justifying Bama over SMU will be super easy to do for the committee. At least they don't have to make up a QB injury excuse this year.

I don't think they ever want to set a precedent of knocking the CCG loser out while putting a non-participant in.

I don't think there is anything wrong with saying that a conference is going to get 1 entry and it is the CCG winner.

That's why I said they wouldn't drop a (had we beaten Auburn & tu) 10-3 A&M team out and put Bama, Ole Miss, Tenn in over us.

But I think in this case, you're saying they can't drop SMU, which means a conference that was expected to have 1 slot should now get 2 because their CCG went a different way. I don't think that is true at all.

ACC was getting 1, ACC will still get 1.
